Hello, everyone!\u00a0 Jordan and I were discussing our upcoming posts yesterday, and several things were mentioned that aren’t big enough for a post, but deserve some attention. So, we decided I would write a Tuesday Thoughts for you.<\/p>\n

\"Curly<\/p>\n

First off, Happy Birthday to Jordan who is turning the big Four – Oh today.\u00a0 She has brought soooooo much joy to us and those who know her.<\/p>\n

Meat vs. Plant-based<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Have you seen “The Game Changers” on Netflix?\u00a0 It is a documentary about meat based diets vs. plant-based diets, and it is so well done with lots of real life evidence to back it up.\u00a0 We have watched several documentaries dealing with the same topic.\u00a0 I have not eaten beef for about 30 years, but I do consume fish and chicken.\u00a0 This month I am going to eat less chicken and fish, and see if it makes a difference.\u00a0 I always feel great, have plenty of energy, and my numbers are excellent, so it’s exciting to think I could feel even better.<\/em>\u00a0 I do have to take into consideration the fact that I will be having a few birthday meals.<\/p>\n

Jordan is excited to do the February VIP<\/a> round of the Faster Way to Fat Loss<\/a>.\u00a0 Although she does not need to lose weight, she is excited that they are coming out with a vegan option.\u00a0 If you are interested in joining her, you can go to this link<\/a> to sign up.\u00a0 You do not have to be vegan to do it.\u00a0 They have regular menus for meat-eaters so everyone is happy.\u00a0 The founder, Amanda, was inspired to create a vegan menu after seeing “Game Changers.”<\/p>\n

New Year’s Resolution<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Have you made your New Year’s resolution(s)?\u00a0 I have and am so excited about it.\u00a0 I truly do get good results from my resolutions.\u00a0 Last year I promised to drink more water, and to stay in the moment.\u00a0 My water intake, though not perfect, has greatly increased, and so have my trips to the potty.\u00a0 Ha!!!\u00a0 The second resolution was because I often day-dream about the future when I should be concentrating on the here and now.\u00a0 That one has been a challenge, but I have improved.<\/p>\n

This year’s resolution is to SHOP LOCAL.\u00a0 Shopping on line has become so, so easy.\u00a0 With next day shipment and no shipping fees, they make it very appealing.\u00a0 However, I need to support local stores wherever I am.\u00a0 By local, I am shopping at the stores rather than online.\u00a0 It can be a mall chain store (I am not a fan of malls), a Mom and Pop store around the corner, or a local store where we are traveling.\u00a0 My thought is that the mall hires people who live in my community, and they needs their job just like everyone else.\u00a0 Here’s how I am going to approach it:\u00a0 I will give three stores a chance, and if I cannot find what I am looking for, then I will buy the item online.\u00a0 However, I will no longer order a tube of toothpaste or a bolt of ribbon from Amazon just because I am too lazy to go to the store.\u00a0 Last week I needed a new pair of house slippers.\u00a0 I like a good solid pair of slippers because I spend most of my daytime hours in them.\u00a0 I had to go to three stores, and luckily, the third store had just what I was looking for.\u00a0 We will still share items that we bought with you if we can find online stores that sell whatever we bought.\u00a0 For instance, these are the house slipper<\/a>s that I bought.<\/p>\n

Blogiversary<\/h2>\n

Our blog turns nine this week.\u00a0 We started it while we were on a trip in Laos, and I think our first post had seven readers.\u00a0 Thanks to our friend Carolyn Rasnick who has been with us since the beginning, and for all of you who stop by regularly, leave comments, or send emails.\u00a0 We love hearing from you.<\/p>\n

The Dutch House<\/h2>\n

I am reading The Dutch House<\/a><\/span> right now and am thoroughly enjoying it.\u00a0 Have any of you read it yet?\u00a0 I saw it on the NY Times<\/em> best selling list, and anything that has the word Dutch in it gets my attention.\u00a0 I highly recommend this book as does Jordan.<\/p>\n

Mike and I woke up to our smoke detectors blasting “Fire” last week.\u00a0 Come back tomorrow to find out what that was all about.\u00a0 Let’s just say it was something, and it was not good.<\/p>\n
