Hello, everyone, from Pigeon Ford, TN., also known as the home of Dollywood.\u00a0 Mom, Dad,\u00a0 Little Miss, Google, and I spent yesterday at Dollywood, and we had so much fun.\u00a0 (If you follow us on Instagram<\/a><\/span>, then you were able to keep up with our activities.)\u00a0 Mom and I have always said that we need to meet half way between my home in Charlotte, NC and her home in Lexington, KY for lunch, but we have only done it once.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Lucky for us, Dollywood is almost half way to each other’s homes.\u00a0 So, we thought it would be fun to meet at Dollywood for the day.\u00a0 What a good decision that was!!!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

First off, Dollywood is all dolled up for Christmas, and my children loved it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This will be Google’s first Christmas, and we thought his eyes were going to pop right out of his head when he saw the special Christmas decorations at Dollywood.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The amusement park opened at 11:00, and we arrived shortly after in order to take advantage of the time we had.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

The park stayed open until 9 p.m.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We all left our homes around 7:00 in the morning and had an easy drive.\u00a0 We had a beautiful day with mild temperatures and lots of sunshine.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Our plan was to spend some time at Dollywood, retreat to our hotel room for naptime, and return for the lights after dinner.\u00a0 However, the children were so energized by all of the rides, lights, shows, and festivities that we stayed until well after the sun went down.\u00a0 They did not need a break, and they didn’t fuss one bit.\u00a0 Win, win!!!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Dollywood is truly a place for all ages.\u00a0 We rode cars, bumper cars, ducks, bees, trains, swings, and the scrambler.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

My parents rode many rides right along with Google and Little Miss.\u00a0 (Mom and Little Miss were true dare devils on the bumper cars.)\u00a0 And when we needed a break, we watched one of the many Christmas shows scattered in venues throughout the park.\u00a0 The children enjoyed\u00a0 the shows as much as we did, but I think their favorite was the magician.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the sun went town, Dollywood became truly magical with thousands and thousands of lights in all different colors wrapped around every building and practically every tree in the park.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We all love Dolly so much, and it feels as if we are close to her when we visit her park.\u00a0 And while I am on the topic of Dolly…..have you ever heard of one person not liking her?\u00a0 We haven’t either.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Everyone loves Dolly.\u00a0 Also, many people don’t know that she purchases more children’s books than anyone else in the country.\u00a0 To date, she has given 125 million books to children from birth to age five at no charge so they can have their own books.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We signed Little Miss and Google up to get the books when they each came home, and my brother signed his daughter up when she was a newborn still in the hospital.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Only certain zip codes qualify.\u00a0 We live in Charlotte, NC, and my brother lived in Washington, DC at the time.\u00a0 Each month new books arrive in our mail from Dolly.<\/p>\n

\"\" Dollywood will continue its Christmas festivities through Jan. 4.\u00a0 They will not be open every day, so if you plan to visit, check their website.\u00a0 A visit to Dollywood would be a great family gift that will create lasting memories for your family.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We are so happy that we were able to be together today in such a magical and wholesome place. God bless Dolly!!!<\/p>\n
