{"id":43023,"date":"2019-10-15T17:49:41","date_gmt":"2019-10-15T22:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=43023"},"modified":"2019-10-15T16:49:56","modified_gmt":"2019-10-15T21:49:56","slug":"diy-fall-table-runner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=43023","title":{"rendered":"DIY Fall Table Runner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I showed you the pillows that I made for our <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2019\/09\/22\/fall-in-the-family-room\/\">fall family room deco<\/a>r<\/span>, I mentioned that there was enough fabric remaining to use on a runner for our dining room.\u00a0 It took less than an hour to make the table runner, and I am loving how it looks.\u00a0 Our dining room is in transition with new fireplace logs that I&#8217;ll show you soon, <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2019\/10\/01\/new-dining-chairs-3\/\">new chairs<\/a><\/span>, and shelves that should be ready any day now.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I am all about orange and navy for this fall, which you have probably figured out by now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-43040\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-table-runner-3-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-table-runner-3-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-table-runner-3-242x323.jpg 242w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-table-runner-3-300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you have a sewing machine, then you can easily make a runner.\u00a0 A bonus is that you can decide what size you want it to be.\u00a0 All you need to do is determine the width and length that you want and go from there.\u00a0 My fabric was short and wide, so, I cut it into two pieces and sewed them together in the middle.\u00a0 (My runner is 17 inches wide and 84 inches long.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-43041\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-Table-Runner-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-Table-Runner-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-Table-Runner-242x323.jpg 242w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dining-Table-Runner-300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Matching the pattern and ironing it well means the seam hardly shows up.\u00a0 Then I hemmed all four sides, and that was it!\u00a0 If you find some fabric that you love, then make a table runner with it.\u00a0 And here&#8217;s the thing.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t have to be decorator fabric.\u00a0 I made another runner for an upcoming tea that my garden club is hosting, and I used some quilt fabric from Hobby Lobby.\u00a0 It turned out perfectly, too.\u00a0 Stay tuned for photos of that tablescape.\u00a0 You could easily change a runner on a whim or\u00a0 seasonally.\u00a0 Of course, if you don&#8217;t have a sewing machine, there are plenty to purchase at reasonable prices.\u00a0 I think that Homegoods has a great selection at great prices.
