Happy Monday, everyone.\u00a0 I will be in Charlotte this week to help Jordan get Google’s room ready for his arrival.\u00a0 We have an adoption update ready for tomorrow, so be sure to stop by and read the latest news.\u00a0 We had so much fun getting Little Miss’s room<\/a> ready for her arrival, but this room will be completely different.\u00a0 No pink allowed.\u00a0 Follow along on Instagram<\/a> to see what we are up to.\u00a0 Meanwhile, I have been adding spring to the guest room.\u00a0 This post proves you don’t have to have a completely neutral room to change the room’s seasonal look.\u00a0 As you know, we have a lot of neutral and a lot of navy in this house.\u00a0 Well, I’m treating navy as if it’s a neutral as well.\u00a0 And guess what!!!\u00a0 It’s working.\u00a0 Let’s take a look.<\/p>\n

When we were in Peru last month, we spent a few hours at the local market while we were in Cusco.\u00a0 Shopping with the locals is one of my favorite ways to find great souvenirs to bring home from a trip.\u00a0 Since Peru produces a lot of warm, cozy products from alpaca, and I knew that I had to bring home some alpaca throws.\u00a0 When we were in Peru 12 years ago, I bought a good alpaca sweater, and it still looks brand new.<\/p>\n

So, for the guest room, I bought a pink throw and some beautiful pillow covers with nice pastel colors.\u00a0 Adding these few items to the guest room just made it brighten up and look all springy.\u00a0 Don’t you agree?<\/p>\n

The pillows are so cheery and definitely say spring and summer.<\/p>\n

The bonus is that the colors are perfect with my latest art purchase, and I didn’t even know that I would be buying this painting when I got the pillows.<\/p>\n

But when I was at the Blue Grass Trust antique show, I saw this large art piece from the 1950’s and had to have it.\u00a0 It was quite pricey, but the colors and the children playing blind man’s bluff just spoke to me.\u00a0 I know that if I get bored with it in this room, I can always put it in the dorm<\/a> or in the nursery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The frame was warped, and when I hung it on the wall, it didn’t hang straight.\u00a0 I took it to my local picture framer (The Great Frame Up for you locals), and he removed the canvas from the frame and built a new frame for it.\u00a0 It is now perfect.<\/p>\n

Adding some fresh flowers is always a good idea when welcoming in a new season.\u00a0 There’s more of the pink.<\/p>\n

I even bought a new plant to fill this corner.<\/p>\n

That’s spring in the guest room.\u00a0 Just a few simple additions took the room from it’s winter coziness to a bright and fresh room that ready for warmer weather.<\/p>\n
