{"id":4133,"date":"2011-08-29T20:04:09","date_gmt":"2011-08-30T01:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=4133"},"modified":"2011-08-29T20:04:09","modified_gmt":"2011-08-30T01:04:09","slug":"somethin-for-nothin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=4133","title":{"rendered":"Somethin&#8217; for Nothin&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>Author: \u00a0Autumn<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>Don&#8217;t you just love it when you can create silk from a sow&#8217;s ear? \u00a0(I love that old saying and have been waiting for the right time to use it!)<\/h3>\n<h3>Well, I did just that. \u00a0When we moved in, I discovered an old yellow trash can with yellow flowers that the previous owner had left behind. \u00a0I painted it white and stopped at that. \u00a0However, last week when I was avoiding another project, I decided to do something to the waste basket and then use it in our powder room, <a title=\"Powder Room Reveal\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/12\/powder-room-reveal\/\">here<\/a>.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/08\/29\/somethin-for-nothin\/img_0723\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4134\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4134\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0723-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0723-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0723-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">This is the waste basket with just the white paint on it.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/08\/29\/somethin-for-nothin\/img_0721\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4135\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4135\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0721-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0721-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0721-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I have read so much about the Graphics Fairy, and I went to her website and printed out two of these labels.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/08\/29\/somethin-for-nothin\/img_0722\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4136\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4136\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0722-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0722-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0722-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I tore them instead of cutting them so they would look older.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/08\/29\/somethin-for-nothin\/img_0724\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4137\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4137\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0724-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0724-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0724-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I then decoupaged the graphics to two sides of the trash can.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/08\/29\/somethin-for-nothin\/img_0729\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4138\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4138\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0729-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0729-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMG_0729-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">When it was dry, I applied some brown Briwax so it would look aged. The rough areas around the edge picked up the wax a little more, and I am not so happy about that. \u00a0Then I taped off an area to paint B.M.
