I have probably mentioned on here a gazillion times that brunch is my favorite meal to make, and it’s my favorite way to entertain.\u00a0 I make brunch for Mike and me every Sunday after church, and recently we invited four friends to join us.\u00a0 It was a cold day outside, but despite the weather, it was a springtime brunch inside.\u00a0 The table definitely isn’t magazine worthy, but I always like seeing how people set their tables, so we thought you might enjoy seeing this one, too. This table setting is definitely a high low mix.\u00a0 I used our good silver with goblets that cost a dollar each.\u00a0 Here are some tips for making a springtime brunch table setting.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Use a Table Cloth<\/h2>\n

\"Brunch<\/p>\n

Maybe they’re a little bit old fashioned, but I love using\u00a0 table cloths when we entertain.\u00a0 They make everything seem a little fancier, and they also help to protect the table if you use a pad.\u00a0 I made the table cloth using left over fabric from the bed skirt that I told you about in this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dish Cloths as Napkins<\/h2>\n

\"Brunch<\/p>\n

Dish cloths make great napkins.\u00a0 They are big, come in lots of different patterns, and aren’t as pricey as napkins. I pulled out my French dish cloths that I bought at a street market while on a bicycling trip in France.\u00a0 Dish cloths make the best napkins.\u00a0 I bought six of these for just two euros.\u00a0 I always wash them in a delicate cycle and hang them to dry so that they are always looking new and fresh.<\/p>\n

Use Some White<\/h2>\n

\"Brunch<\/p>\n

\u00a0 When other things on the table are so colorful, I like to use white plates.\u00a0 These Nantucket basket plates by Wedgewood, which you can buy here<\/a>, are just the best.\u00a0 The simple details of the basket weave around the edge give them some style.\u00a0 I paired them with our International silver in the Royal Danish pattern.\u00a0 The green dish is depression glass, and it held fresh fruit salad.<\/p>\n

Go High Low<\/h2>\n

\"Brunch<\/p>\n

Everything on a table doesn’t have to be the finest or most expensive.\u00a0 Mix it up.\u00a0 Go high low to have a more interesting look.\u00a0 The blue goblets were one dollar each at the Dollar Tree.\u00a0 They have been used again and again.\u00a0 The blue and white cups came from Ikea a few years ago.<\/p>\n

Add a Pop of Color<\/h2>\n

Since these are the flowers I happened to have on hand, I used them for the centerpiece.\u00a0 I love that they weren’t matchy, matchy and added a little pop of color to the green and blue theme.\u00a0 I think they made the table so much more fun and happy.<\/p>\n

Serve What You Love<\/h2>\n

\"Spring<\/p>\n

Brunch is such a fun meal to prepare because there are so many ways you can go with it.\u00a0 You can make an egg and sausage casserole or create a waffle bar with lots of different toppings.\u00a0 Or you can go country and serve sausage gravy and biscuits along with cheese grits.\u00a0 And don’t forget there’s always pancakes or crepes.\u00a0 I picked some of my fave brunch foods for our menu this time.\u00a0 The menu was these bloody Mary’s<\/a>, this egg dish<\/a>, these biscuits<\/a>, and fruit salad.\u00a0 It was all delicious and very much enjoyed.<\/p>\n

We hope these tips will inspire you to invite some friends over for a springtime brunch or just to prepare brunch more often for your family.<\/p>\n
