{"id":40935,"date":"2019-02-14T18:00:44","date_gmt":"2019-02-14T23:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=40935"},"modified":"2019-02-15T07:46:07","modified_gmt":"2019-02-15T12:46:07","slug":"orange-chocolate-scones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=40935","title":{"rendered":"Orange Chocolate Scones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Editor\u2019s Note &#8211; We we\u2019re reminded by an observant reader that two ingredients were omitted from the recipe. \u00a0Add 1 teaspoon fresh grated orange rind and 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips before adding the egg\/milk mixture. \u00a0I am writing this from a small town in Peru with horrible WiFi. \u00a0I could not change the ingredients through our app. Will correct it when we get home next week. \u00a0We are doing fine and are sore from lots of manual labor&#x1f600;.<\/p>\n<p>******<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">When I hosted a <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2019\/01\/30\/a-winter-tea-party\/\">tea party<\/a> recently, I knew that scones needed to be on the menu.\u00a0 After all, it was a high tea served in the afternoon, and if there&#8217;s one thing I want at a sit-down tea, it&#8217;s a good scone.\u00a0 I looked through various scone recipes on line and then decided to come up with my own version.\u00a0 I took this delicious <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/01\/05\/the-best-biscuit-recipe\/\">biscuit recipe<\/a> and turned it into these orange chocolate scones by switching some ingredients and adding some more.\u00a0 Scones, in my opinion, are just fancy biscuits. Mixture will be lumpy, and you should see small bits of butter.\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-2\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Combine milk and one egg and add to the flour mixture by pouring into the middle.  Mix until milk is absorbed and flour is mixed in well.\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-3\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Dump the dough onto a floured surface and knead 20 times.  Then roll or pat the dough to a  3\/4 inch thickness.  Keep moving the dough so it doesn't stick.  Use a plain or fluted cutter to cut circles of dough.
