{"id":40399,"date":"2018-12-03T18:00:11","date_gmt":"2018-12-03T23:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=40399"},"modified":"2018-11-30T15:57:54","modified_gmt":"2018-11-30T20:57:54","slug":"janettes-christmas-tree","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=40399","title":{"rendered":"Janette&#8217;s Christmas Tree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from California.\u00a0 Mike and I have a busy travel month, and we kicked December off with a long weekend here in Los Angeles.\u00a0 We flew out Saturday afternoon and will get home this afternoon.\u00a0 He needed to be measured for some new cycling shoes that he gets custom made here, and I tagged along for fun.\u00a0 We will have a post to tell you about our get away, but today I want to show you our Christmas tree.\u00a0 Now, granted that in the blog world, our tree is probably below average, but it&#8217;s ours, and we love it.\u00a0 I&#8217;m very low key when it comes to Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-40403\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3102-535x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas tree - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"640\" height=\"1224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3102-535x1024.jpg 535w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3102-169x323.jpg 169w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3102-768x1469.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3102-300x574.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s tree is our first faux tree other than a little table top version that we had once.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a prelit seven feet tall slender tree that we bought at Lowe&#8217;s.\u00a0 For some reason, it was on sale for less than half price the day I was there, and so, I grabbed it because it looks very realistic.\u00a0 We just really miss the fragrance of a real tree, but as I said earlier, we will be traveling a lot this month and won&#8217;t be able to water a tree regularly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-40404\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3103-663x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas tree - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"640\" height=\"989\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3103-663x1024.jpg 663w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3103-209x323.jpg 209w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3103-768x1187.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3103-300x464.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I wanted a tree that would fit into the corner of our dining room, and this one is just right.\u00a0 (By the way, that&#8217;s a wooden airplane propeller from WW I leaning against the wall behind the tree.\u00a0 That&#8217;s where it lives.)\u00a0 Our house is part of a progressive dinner\/fundraiser later in the month, and there will be 50 people here enjoying dessert.\u00a0 I knew that we needed to leave as much room as possible in the dining room because the desserts will be on that table.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-40408\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3108-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas tree - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3108-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3108-242x323.jpg 242w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3108-300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our decorations are mostly colorful glass ornaments.\u00a0 I gave each of our children a box of their special ornaments last year so they can enjoy the sentimental ones that have particular meaning to them.\u00a0 Since they are establishing their own Christmas memories, it was the right thing to do.\u00a0 I have several of these white sparkly pine cones, and they&#8217;re my favorites.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-40405\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_3104-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas tree -
