{"id":40397,"date":"2018-12-02T18:04:47","date_gmt":"2018-12-02T23:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=40397"},"modified":"2018-11-29T16:05:19","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T21:05:19","slug":"diy-melted-crayon-ornament-revisited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=40397","title":{"rendered":"DIY Melted Crayon Ornament &#8211; Revisited"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to December, everyone.\u00a0 The race is on to buy all the things, decorate, party, ahd have a wonderful and unforgettable Christmas.\u00a0 We are revisiting one of our favorite DIY Christmas crafts today.\u00a0 It&#8217;s cute, child-friendly, easy. and inexpensive.\u00a0 We had so much fun making these DIY melted crayon ornaments last year and love seeing them on our tree again this year.\u00a0 Enjoy the revisit.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have a simple and child-friendly ornament for you today that you can make with your children and grandchildren.\u00a0 I found this project on Pinterest, and it appealed to me because it was something I could do with Little Miss.\u00a0 She loves doing anything with her hands.\u00a0 She loves to help me cook and bake, and she really gets into coloring, painting, and building things.\u00a0 When Mom, Little Miss and I were in Florida for a week recently, we thought it would be fun to do some Christmas crafts, and this is one that we did.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The Materials Needed\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37503\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DIY-Ornaments-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"DIY Crayon Ornaments - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"850\" height=\"638\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DIY-Ornaments-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DIY-Ornaments-430x323.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DIY-Ornaments-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/h2>\n<p>To do this craft, you need Crayola crayons, clear Christmas ornaments, utility scissors, a grater, foil, and a hair dryer.\u00a0 We read that the Crayola brand melts the best, so you can just use old ones that are broken.\u00a0 Also, we used plastic ornaments, but glass ones would probably work better.\u00a0 The plus for using plastic ornaments is that Mom dropped one, and it didn&#8217;t break.\u00a0 However, they do get a little soft from the hair dryer heat, so plastic balls might get a dent in them here and there, but that&#8217;s okay.\u00a0 We put foil on the table to protect it.<\/p>\n<h2>The Process\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37506\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/DIY-Ornaments-2-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"DIY Crayon Ornaments - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"850\" height=\"565\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/DIY-Ornaments-3-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/DIY-Ornaments-3-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/DIY-Ornaments-3-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the red and green ornament, we grated crayons that were those two colors.\u00a0 Then we just sprinkled them into the tiny hole at the top of the clear ornament and turned on a hair dryer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37466\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Screen-Shot-2017-11-29-at-3.04.49-PM.png\" alt=\"DIY Melted Crayon Ornaments - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"750\" height=\"685\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Screen-Shot-2017-11-29-at-3.04.49-PM.png 542w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Screen-Shot-2017-11-29-at-3.04.49-PM-354x323.png 354w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Screen-Shot-2017-11-29-at-3.04.49-PM-300x274.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of us held the hair dryer and one held the ball, which got really hot.\u00a0 One person should be able to do this project alone, but just use a towel to help hold the ornaments and protect your hands from the heat.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37505\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/DIY-Ornaments-4-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"DIY Crayon Ornaments -
