{"id":39913,"date":"2018-10-11T17:00:03","date_gmt":"2018-10-11T22:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=39913"},"modified":"2018-10-11T08:55:05","modified_gmt":"2018-10-11T13:55:05","slug":"croque-madame-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=39913","title":{"rendered":"Croque Madame Pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My favorite French lunch is a croque monsieur sandwich.\u00a0 It&#8217;s bread, ham, and cheese topped with a bechamel sauce that is broiled.\u00a0 A croque madame sandwich is the same thing, but it is topped with an egg.\u00a0 These sandwiches are creamy, gooey, and yet crunchy, and I am always satisfied to the max after eating one.\u00a0 I love entertaining in the fall and winter by serving a hearty brunch.\u00a0 Although a croque madame pizza would be good at any meal, it is a perfect brunch food served with an arugula salad.\u00a0 This croque madame pizza was the first thing I baked in our new stove here at our new place, and it was such a joy to eat.\u00a0 It is somewhat a comfort food and perfect for cooler weather.\u00a0 It really isn&#8217;t too hard to make because this pizza is more about assembly than actual cooking.\u00a0 Instead of making the sauce, you combine the ingredients and they become the base for the pizza. Since I haven&#8217;t found my good camera yet, these photos are taken with an iphone.\u00a0 Please don&#8217;t let their lack of luster keep you from making this croque madame id=\"yrecipe-ingredient-3\" class=\"ingredient\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">1\/2 cup sour cream\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-ingredient-4\" class=\"ingredient\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">3 teaspoons dijon mustard\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-ingredient-5\" class=\"ingredient\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-ingredient-6\" class=\"ingredient\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">salt and fresh ground black pepper \r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-ingredient-7\" class=\"ingredient\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">8 ounces of deli ham cut into strips (can use prociutto or pancetta\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-ingredient-8\" class=\"ingredient\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">4 or 6 eggs at room temperature (this depends on how many slices you want from your pizza)\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-ingredient-9\" class=\"ingredient\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">1\/2 cup gruyere for the top<\/li><\/ul><p id=\"yrecipe-instructions\" class=\"h-4 strong\">Instructions<\/p><ol id=\"yrecipe-instructions-list\" class=\"instructions\"><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-0\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Preheat oven to 425\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-1\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Spread dough onto a pizza pan\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-2\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Combine cheddar, gruyere, sour cream, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper and spread over the crust.\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-3\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Using the ham, make little circular \"nests\" for the eggs\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-4\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Crack a raw egg into each ham nest\r<\/li><li id=\"yrecipe-instruction-5\" class=\"instruction\" itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Top with remaining gruyere\r<\/li><li
