I get asked all of the time which appliances we are putting in our new house.\u00a0 It might be because so many of you know how much I disliked the poor design and workmanship of the KitchenAid refrigerator <\/a>that we had in our last house.\u00a0 I sure don’t want to make that mistake again.\u00a0 Appliances are so costly, and they can\/should last about 15 years so it’s very important to select the right ones for your home, your wallet, and your lifestyle.\u00a0 Are you ready to see which appliances we selected?<\/p>\n

Refrigerator<\/h2>\n

This time we are getting an LG door in door French door fridge.\u00a0 Our landlords did a complete remodel of our apartment last fall, and after doing lots of research, they selected this same refrigerator for our apartment.\u00a0 I have loved it from the minute we moved in.\u00a0 Our kitchen designer has designed our kitchen so we can have a full size fridge rather than a counter-depth fridge.\u00a0 This will give us more cubic feet to play with.\u00a0 The door in door feature is so efficient, and I love all of the storage it provides.\u00a0 When our family was here last week for the holiday, that door was a great place for storing beverages.\u00a0 The freezer side is plenty big, too.<\/p>\n

\"Fall<\/p>\n

Stove<\/h2>\n

We are getting the same stove that we had in our last place because I LOVED it.\u00a0 It’s the Thermador 36 inch dual fuel range.\u00a0 We had the 48 inch model in another house, and I called it my Cadillac because I loved polishing it and keeping it looking like new.\u00a0 I can only say positive things about this stove.\u00a0 It never disappointed me.\u00a0 I love having the four burners, but the griddle is right there in the middle waiting for pancakes, French toast, grilled cheese, quesadilla, etc.\u00a0\u00a0 You can get a peak of the stove in our last kitchen, but our new one will be the 2018 version.<\/p>\n

Dishwasher<\/h2>\n

The dishwasher will also be by Thermador, and it’s the 24 inch Sapphire Series panel ready dishwasher.\u00a0 That means the front of the dishwasher will have a cover to match the kitchen cabinets.\u00a0 And the cool thing is that it will be elevated so we won’t have to lean over to load and unload the dishes.\u00a0 We will pull this off by placing it at the end of the island.\u00a0 I saw this feature in a kitchen showroom and knew that we would really enjoy the ease of not bending over.\u00a0 Hey, we aren’t 30 anymore.<\/p>\n

Microwave<\/h2>\n

In another post I mentioned that we are getting this microwave drawer<\/a> rather than a countertop or cabinet level one.\u00a0 We are excited to free up some counter space this way.\u00a0 Everyone that we talked to who has one has really liked it.<\/p>\n

Television<\/h2>\n

We will have a television over the fireplace in our family room, which is the new addition.\u00a0 We are going with the Frame.\u00a0 Are you familiar with it?\u00a0 When we aren’t watching television, it becomes art.\u00a0 I am very excited about this because we have been staring at a big black box over the fireplace for far too long.\u00a0 You can’t even tell that photo hanging over the book case is a television can you?\u00a0 The Frame is by Samsung, and you can get more information about it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Washer and Dryer<\/h2>\n

I couldn’t find the exact style, but we are getting top of the line Maytag front load washer and dryer in white.\u00a0 They will be elevated on risers that will give us some extra storage space in the laundry room.<\/p>\n
