Happy Thursday everyone!\u00a0 We have a DIY art project that’s kid-friendly for you today.\u00a0 For those of you who were wondering, Mom survived her meeting with the Historic Commission<\/a>.\u00a0 They have to replace the tree with a “significant”, which they already planned to do, and they have to submit their landscaping design for approval.\u00a0 They already have those plans and will be submitting them soon.<\/p>\n

Do you see that bike picture in the background?\u00a0 Well, it had completely\u00a0faded and was looking super dull.\u00a0 This photo was taken last summer.<\/p>\n

This photo was taken this summer.\u00a0 Can you see how it has faded?\u00a0 I loved having some art outside, but it was time for a change.\u00a0 We needed something that was looking a little fresher.\u00a0 I liked the size of the canvas because it filled the space perfectly.\u00a0 I thought about it for a while and decided I would commission an artist to do a personal piece for that space.<\/p>\n

Here is my artist.\u00a0 She was so excited to create a masterpiece for the porch.<\/p>\n

The first thing she did was paint over the bicycles.\u00a0 I just grabbed some house paint, and she painted the canvas so she could start with a blank canvas.\u00a0 She took her assignment very seriously.\u00a0 She painted the first coat before nap, and we let it dry during nap.\u00a0 All artists need naps, right?\u00a0 That helps their creative juices to flow.<\/p>\n

Use Leftover Paint<\/h2>\n

After her nap and snack she got to work.\u00a0 The canvas was dry and blank.\u00a0 I then brought out tons of different size brushes that I have from a variety of projects.\u00a0 I also have a bin of those small little tubes of paint.\u00a0 I set it out and then watched her work.<\/p>\n

I really enjoyed watching her in her artistic zone.\u00a0 I also put on some Disney music, and she was doing some dance moves in between\u00a0painting.\u00a0 She worked about an hour on her masterpiece.\u00a0 She was so proud of her DIY art, and so were we!\u00a0 We let it dry and then hung it up.\u00a0 The first thing she did when she woke up the next morning was to go to the porch to see her work.<\/p>\n

Results of the DIY Art<\/h2>\n

I love how it looks. It is so fun for the outdoors, and it was a win, win.\u00a0 This won’t be her last commissioned\u00a0piece for me!<\/p>\n
