<\/p>\nHappy Monday everyone!\u00a0 We hope you had a great weekend.\u00a0 Over the weekend we celebrated Songkran which is the Thailand new year.\u00a0 We had a party here at our house and invited some other families who have adopted a child from Thailand.\u00a0 The Thais celebrate with lots of water, and we already said when our children are older, we plan to go to Thailand during Songkran to experience the festivities.<\/p>\n
There are a few posts I have been meaning to write, and today I am finally sharing a quick one.\u00a0 My office has been a trial and error room since we moved in.\u00a0 At first I had an antique roll top desk that Mom gave to me years ago.\u00a0 I loved that desk, but it was too big for the little office.\u00a0 When it was time to update the room, I sold the desk.<\/p>\n

Here is a picture of the office when we moved it.\u00a0\u00a0 It is a small room filled with lots of light and and a great set of French doors.\u00a0 The moment you walk in the house, it is on your left.\u00a0 It suits the needs of my home office, and I use it daily for the blog, my day job and teaching English to kiddos in China<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n (desk before)<\/p>\n Once the old desk was out I brought in my desk\/writing table from my high school days.\u00a0 It is a classic Ethan Allen desk, but as you can see from this picture it was in rough\u00a0 shape.<\/p>\n This picture gives it away, but this desk was painted months ago. <\/p>\nUpdate with a Bold Paint Color<\/h2>\n

During some updating in the room, I decided it was time to paint this desk because it was really rough and needed some TLC.\u00a0 My sister-in-law convinced me to go for a bold hot pink. This wood is cherry, so I needed to make sure I sanded and primed it really well.\u00a0 Sometimes cherry wood can bleed through if it isn’t prepped properly.\u00a0 I have mixed feelings on\u00a0chalk paint, so I decided to go with Behr which I have always liked.\u00a0 The color I used was Diva Glam, and it is bold, bright and awesome.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/IMG_6637-768x1024.jpg\")
