We hope you all had a great Christmas and are enjoying some down time before the new year.\u00a0 We thought we would end up 2017 the way we closed out 2016.\u00a0 We are going to post some of our favorites from the year this week, and today we are starting out with our favorite projects that we completed this year.\u00a0 Some are bigger than others, but each one made a positive impact on our lives, and they were popular with our readers.\u00a0 So join us to take a walk down memory lane this week before we say good-bye to 2017.<\/p>\n

\"Adding<\/p>\n

This by far was our most popular project this year, and yet it was a simple one.\u00a0 Everyone loves an IKEA hack, and that’s exactly what this was.\u00a0 Yankee simply took three small shelves, painted them, and added them to the blank wall at the end of our cabinets, and all of a sudden, we had some great storage space for our cookbooks.\u00a0 To see how it happened, you can read the post here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Closet<\/p>\n

Our second favorite project was also done by Yankee.\u00a0 He created our mudroom from a space that started out as a closet.\u00a0 It wasn’t working for us, so we tore it out and created this awesome space.\u00a0 Go here <\/a>to see the before and after.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\"Powder<\/p>\n

Adding new wallpaper to the tiny powder room in Mom’s house was another one of our faves this year.\u00a0 To see the reveal, go here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Laos<\/p>\n

\u00a0The thought that children were actually attending school in this shack is still hard for us to believe.\u00a0 So, that brings us to our fourth favorite project for 2017.\u00a0 It was building a school in Laos.\u00a0 Be sure to read this post <\/a>to see the after.\u00a0 Sadly, our dear Singaporean friend Raymond Chew, who was the leader on this build, was killed in Singapore on his bicycle when he was struck by a hit and run driver.\u00a0 It happened last month.\u00a0 We have all known Raymond for several years, and he was truly the nicest<\/strong> man we ever<\/strong> have known.<\/p>\n

\"Laundry<\/p>\n

\u00a0It just involved paint, but our final favorite project was when Mom painted the laundry room<\/a> in her house.\u00a0 It freshened up the room and gave it a truly updated look.<\/p>\n
