I have an easy way to add color to a bed, and it’s so simple, that I think you will love it.\u00a0 I am not really a curtain person, but we do have them in Mr. Right’s office. (They were custom made for a room in our last house, and we brought them with us.)\u00a0 Plus, we have some curtains <\/a>in our master bedroom.\u00a0 After seeing the same curtains<\/a> on Kim’s blog<\/a>, I just loved them and bought them for us.\u00a0 They are lined, weighted, and so well made, and we are really pleased with them.<\/p>\n

Here’s the Secret….<\/h2>\n

Now, here’s the secret that I want to share.\u00a0 When I bought the curtains<\/a>, I purchased an additional panel.\u00a0 The bedspread<\/a> that we use in our bedroom in the fall and winter is beige, and the curtains<\/a> are shades of blue plus white.\u00a0 I wanted to tie all of the beigeness in with the curtains<\/a>, so I cut the panel into two pieces length wise.<\/p>\n

Half and Half<\/h2>\n

I used half of the fabric to make covers for two pillows for the bed. Then I hemmed the second half and just draped it across the bottom of the bed.\u00a0 It adds the same amount of color that a folded duvet would add without the bulkiness.<\/p>\n

\u00a0I used this method<\/a> to make the pillows, and hemmed the panel with my sewing machine.\u00a0 However, if you don’t have a machine, you could certainly use Stitch Witchery and the no-sew method to make the panel.\u00a0 I hope the is an idea you can use.<\/p>\n
