this one for over a year. \u00a0I make my own laundry detergent. \u00a0It is very easy, my clothes come out just as clean as with a store detergent, and this costs a lot less money. \u00a0I would rather put the money towards painting a new room or another project. \u00a0I&#8217;m going to show you how to make your own detergent that is not filled with scents, is good for sensitive skin, and will make you three gallons of detergent.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>Things you will need to make the detergent.<\/h3>\n<h3>-1\/2 cup Borax<\/h3>\n<h3>-1 cup Washing Soda<\/h3>\n<h3>-1 bar of soap (I live Ivory since it doesn&#8217;t have a scent.)<\/h3>\n<h3>-5 gallon bucket<\/h3>\n<h3>-Cheese grater<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a \u00a0You will get lots of detergent from these boxes.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The first thing I like to do is set up everything. \u00a0I measure out all of the dry ingredients.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/25\/diy-detergent\/detergent-ingredents\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3690\"><img decoding=\"async\" take the bar of soap and shred it as you would a block of cheese. \u00a0This is a must for making the detergent.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a this step I fill up the five-gallon bucket with three gallons of warm water.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/25\/diy-detergent\/water\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3693\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3693\" title=\"Water boiling\" 100vw, 553px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The next step is to bring 4 cups of water to a boil.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Once the water is boiling, add a little bit of the shredded soap to the boiling water at a time. \u00a0Stir to make sure the soap dissolves.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a soap is completely dissolved, pour the mixture along with the borax and washing soda into the 5 gallon bucket filled with 3 gallons of warm water. \u00a0Stir for a couple of minutes to mix everything the detergent will look like after stirring everything together. \u00a0Put the lid on the bucket, and keep it covered for 24 hours. \u00a0When it is time to use the detergent, you will need to stir it some more because it will have a gel consistency.
