Fall in the kitchen is the last tour for me this fall.\u00a0 Last week I showed you the foyer and the great room.\u00a0 The most important room in our home is the kitchen.\u00a0 It’s where I love spending time because it is open to the great room.\u00a0 I can be doing my cooking thing in the kitchen yet be a part of all that is going on in the adjoining room.\u00a0 As I mentioned before, I like to use what I have, and so the only thing new that I bought for this room was a yummy fall candle and some candy corn.\u00a0 That’s it.\u00a0 And we are enjoying the candy corn, by the way.<\/p>\n

\"Vintage<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You saw this view of the kitchen when I showed you my vintage poster purchase<\/a>.\u00a0 There was a bowl of apples on the table, but I made a vignette using those apples.\u00a0 And by the way, after seeing this shot, my daughter-in-law suggested that I paint the bench to match the blue in the poster.<\/p>\n

I had another bench there before that was blue, and I really liked the look.\u00a0 So, I am going to go with Josie’s suggestion.\u00a0 Now, let’s look at the fall additions.<\/p>\n

Here you go.\u00a0 I am using a feeding pan that I bought at a farm supply store a few years ago to hold real and fake apples.<\/p>\n

Beside them is a little broom also purchased at the farm store.\u00a0 They are on place mats that I put side by side to look like a runner.<\/p>\n

You saw them on the blog here .<\/a>when I showed you how easy it was to turn plain place mats into Frenchy ticking place mats.\u00a0 I topped them with a wooden cutting board to cover where they meet.\u00a0 Texture is a good thing for fall centerpieces, and I love the way these wine corks look in the lantern that came from Ikea a few years ago.<\/p>\n

I have a trio of pillows on the bench, and this one is such a cutie.\u00a0 I bought it last year I think at Home Goods.<\/p>\n

I added two cutting boards to the rustic shelves and a pumpkin now sits on the stack of white ironstone plates.<\/p>\n

Sorry about the quality of this photo, but here’s that candy corn I mentioned.\u00a0 I added this painting just to bring in more fall colors.<\/p>\n

Whoops!\u00a0 I did buy these fresh dish towels.\u00a0 I am still using my navy accessories and just working the fall things in with them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0I love brass and copper touches in the fall.\u00a0 These bowls really go with the fall vibe.<\/p>\n

Here’s another angle.\u00a0 And that’s a wrap for our fall decorations.\u00a0 They will be here till late November and then out will come Christmas.\u00a0 Now is my favorite time of the year, and I want to enjoy every single minute.<\/p>\n
