Revival"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>Author &#8211; Autumn<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>The title of this blog sounds as if we are having a summer tent church meeting, but it is really about what is says it is about &#8211; reviving roses for your table top.<\/h3>\n<h3>Do you often buy roses and other flowers at the market only to be disappointed a few days later when they start to wilt and die? \u00a0Even though I can usually get a good week out of a store-bought bouquet of flowers, thanks to changing the water and snipping off the bottoms daily, the latest bouquet of roses I bought just weren&#8217;t looking too great by day three.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Half Dozen Yellow Roses Vase\" src=\"http:\/\/friendsfamilyflowers.com\/components\/com_virtuemart\/shop_image\/product\/Half_Dozen_Yello_4bb971ade4c82.jpg\" alt=\"Half Dozen Yellow Roses Vase\" width=\"288\" height=\"342\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">These aren&#8217;t the actual flowers I bought, but they looked very similar.<\/h3>\n<h3>Well, thanks to a little bit of effort and just a tad bit of time, those flowers are now on day seven and still surviving. \u00a0This is how I did it.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/20\/rose-revival\/img_0625\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3615\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3615\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0625-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0625-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0625-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">When I bought the roses last week, I put them in my tall Tiffany vase which provided room for the filler and their leaves. \u00a0When I threw away the filler, due to its wilting, I moved them to a smaller vase. \u00a0Today they are down to this little number, which has just been filled with fresh water.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/20\/rose-revival\/img_0629\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3618\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3618\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0629-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0629-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0629-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Two roses completely lost their zest and had to be discarded.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/20\/rose-revival\/img_0626\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3616\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3616\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0626-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0626-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0626-1024x681.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0I snipped about an inch off of the remaining stems. \u00a0This is another reason it is necessary to switch vases as the week wears on. \u00a0The flowers get shorter.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/20\/rose-revival\/img_0627\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3617\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3617\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_0627-430x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">If you look closely, you can see that the outer petals on this rose are turning brown.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/20\/rose-revival\/img_0628\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3621\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0I simply removed them.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/20\/rose-revival\/img_0630\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3622\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3622\" 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I cut some fronds from my outdoor ferns to use as fresh filler.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">I arranged them in the little blue vase, and&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a
