{"id":3508,"date":"2011-07-19T06:20:16","date_gmt":"2011-07-19T11:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=3508"},"modified":"2011-07-19T08:49:53","modified_gmt":"2011-07-19T13:49:53","slug":"weekends-in-the-adironacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=3508","title":{"rendered":"Weekends in the Adirondacks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Author: \u00a0Spring<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Because I have been traveling a lot for work the last couple of months, I want to have some fun with Mr. Spring and Gracie when I&#8217;m home for the week-ends. \u00a0Now that our big project \u00a0in the backyard is finished, (you can read about it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/05\/09\/backyard-face-lift-part-1\/\">here<\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/10\/its-not-easy-being-green\/\">here<\/a><\/span>) we wanted to go out and enjoy the wonderful summer Syracuse is having. \u00a0It is great that our summer is so nice and pleasant. \u00a0We earned it after having 15 feet of snow this winter.<\/h3>\n<h3>Mr. Spring and I really enjoy the outdoors while hiking, camping and \u00a0kayaking. \u00a0Mr. Spring proposed to me during a kayak\/camping trip to Cumberland Island in Georgia two years ago. \u00a0Now that we are married, we decided to buy our own kayaks. \u00a0Our first thing was to find a style that would have a space so we could take Gracie along with us. \u00a0We did lots of research and ended up with a good model that has a special place where she can sit now and when she is an adult dog.<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/19\/weekends-in-the-adironacks\/camping-gracie\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3517\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3517 aligncenter\" title=\"Kayaking with Gracie\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Camping-gracie-322x323.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"322\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Camping-gracie-322x323.jpg 322w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Camping-gracie-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Camping-gracie-1021x1024.jpg 1021w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Camping-gracie.jpg 1436w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 322px) 100vw, 322px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">We make sure that safety is first. \u00a0Even Gracie has her own life jacket. \u00a0She hasn&#8217;t figured out the whole water thing quite yet, though.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">The last two weekends we drove out of town to the Adirondacks where we kayaked on Lower Saranac Lake to an island to go camping. \u00a0These island camp sites are only accessible by boat. We lucked out, and the weather was beautiful both times. \u00a0As a bonus, it was very peaceful. \u00a0Sadly, our photos do not do justice to the surroundings. \u00a0If you ever get a chance, you need to visit the area.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/19\/weekends-in-the-adironacks\/camping-5\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3512\"><img sizes=\"(max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">While kayaking out to the island, \u00a0I was so busy trying to take photos that I ended up pretty far from Mr. Spring and Gracie in their boat.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/19\/weekends-in-the-adironacks\/camping-4\/\" rel=\"attachment campsite. \u00a0All of our gear, food and even firewood fit into the kayaks.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">It was fun enjoying the warm weather and water. \u00a0I was debating about going swimming.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Even while camping, we can enjoy a glass of wine. \u00a0We love these non-breakable wine glasses. \u00a0Even though we were in the middle of an island with no one around, we could still have some class using proper wine glasses instead of paper cups.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/07\/19\/weekends-in-the-adironacks\/camping-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3514\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full center;\">The moon was beautiful. \u00a0This picture cannot explain how peaceful and beautiful it was that evening.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">I hope you enjoyed our camping adventure.
