A few weeks ago I wrote a post<\/a> asking your opinion on which fabric I should select for a wing back chair that sits beside the fireplace in our great room.\u00a0 I gave you a selection, and there was an obvious favorite.\u00a0 However, your favorite wasn’t my favorite.<\/p>\n

My local fabric store was having a March Madness sale in honor of the basketball craziness that goes on here in Kentucky.\u00a0 I thought the sale would end when March ended.\u00a0 No…..that was just silly me.\u00a0 The sale ended when Kentucky lost which was the weekend before March ended.\u00a0 So, when I went to buy my fabric and get the nice 20 per cent discount, the sale was over.\u00a0 That was a big boo.<\/p>\n

So, while I was there sulking, I took another stroll through the store to just make sure I didn’t miss a fabric.\u00a0 Thankfully, she has everything arranged according to color, and I definitely wanted something in the blue category.\u00a0 I saw a pretty geometric design in red and loved it.\u00a0 I hurried over to the blue section, and hiding on the very top rack was the same design in navy.\u00a0 I knew as soon as I saw it that it was THE ONE.\u00a0 Unfortunately, it was one of the most expensive fabrics in the shop, but it didn’t matter since I knew that it would look great on our chair.<\/p>\n

The shop also provides an upholstery service (as well as custom curtains, pillows, etc.), so, I rushed home and loaded our chair into my SUV and took it to the shop.\u00a0 And just two short weeks later, the chair was ready.\u00a0 (By the way, I am going to tone down the red in the legs by applying some tinted Briwax.)<\/p>\n

I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly that all went down.<\/p>\n

Last year I took a simple bench to another shop, and I had to wait months for it to be finished.\u00a0 (Go here<\/a> to read about the stacking tables that recently received an update.)<\/p>\n

I love the new fabric and how it has freshened up the old chair.\u00a0 It has an updated look that is versatile, yet it still has the navy that is my favorite color.<\/p>\n
