Hey everyone.\u00a0 I posted a photo last week on our Instagram<\/a> of our Christmas tree as a little teaser and planned to write a post about our first fake tree.\u00a0 However, that single photo is the only one that will ever exist of this year’s Christmas tree.<\/h3>\n

It seems our first ever artificial tree was a lemon.\u00a0 Not a lemon tree.\u00a0 No, not that.\u00a0 It was poorly made and had a short in it.\u00a0 Part of one section would be on a minutes and then off a few minutes.\u00a0 That drove me crazy.\u00a0\u00a0 I watched The Crown<\/em>, and out of the corner of my eye, I could see the tree malfunctioning.\u00a0 Yikes!<\/h3>\n

We bought the tree at Lowe’s, and the box clearly stated do not return the tree to the store.\u00a0 So, being the rule follower that I am, I called the number on the box and was on with them for at least half an hour.\u00a0 The girl spoke poor\u00a0 English, and with every question I asked, she had to put me on hold and ask someone.\u00a0 Finally, she told me to take the tree apart, put it back together, and turn it on and off three times quickly.<\/h3>\n

No…..If I had to take off the ornaments and take the tree apart, I was returning it to the store and exchanging it for the same tree.\u00a0 Lowe’s was wonderful and readily accepted my lemon Christmas tree, but they didn’t have another one like it in stock.\u00a0 They checked the other nearby stores, and they didn’t have one either.\u00a0 I had selected a real looking fir that was 7.5 feet tall and was slender.\u00a0 That size fit the spot just right.\u00a0 I checked some other stores, but they didn’t have just what I wanted, and I was afraid to buy just any tree and then become dissatisfied with it.<\/h3>\n

So, the bottom line here is that we no longer have a tree, and we won’t be getting another this year.\u00a0 Luckily, we will be spending Christmas at Jordan’s and will get to enjoy her live tree.\u00a0 Meanwhile, I loaded the place up with poinsettias, have some decorations out, and am playing Christmas music.\u00a0 That will have to do for 2016.<\/h3>\n
