Hello, everyone.\u00a0 You might think that the two of us have dropped off of a cliff, but we have just been super busy with entertaining out of town guests (Jordan), hosting Thanksgiving (Jordan), traveling to Charlotte, NC and then San Diego, CA (Janette), doing some Christmas prep (Jordan), getting my life back in order after a week away (Janette.)\u00a0 Mr. Right and I drove to Charlotte to spend three nights there.\u00a0 It was great hanging out with Jordan and family, our son Cory and his wife Josie, my brother-in-law, and some of Yankee’s family.<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

Jordan and Yankee were fantastic hosts.\u00a0 We started Thanksgiving morning by going to the Charlotte Thanksgiving Day parade which is a pretty big deal down there.\u00a0 It was the first parade for Little Miss.\u00a0 The weather was balmy, and we were able to really enjoy the morning.<\/h3>\n

There was everything to see that you would expect in a parade including clowns, but their clowns looked friendly and nice.\u00a0 They weren’t the frightening version that we have heard about in the news recently.<\/h3>\n

That afternoon we all sat down together for a delicious and traditional Thanksgiving meal with all of the trimmings.<\/h3>\n

That night while still comatose from all that we ate, we drove to the Charlotte Speedway to view the wonderful Christmas lights.\u00a0 The men were so excited to be on the actual race track, but the girls were, “Meh”.\u00a0 The lights were great, though, and went on forever.<\/h3>\n

Then bright and early the next morning, Mr. Right and I started our seven hour drive home to Lexington so we would arrive in time to shower and hop on a plane to San Diego for a long weekend.\u00a0 We arrived very late on Friday night (actually it was early Saturday morning) and slept in the next morning.\u00a0 We treated ourselves to room service and had breakfast in bed.\u00a0 Mr. Right watched college football, which was on east coast time, and a little past noon we headed out.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0\"San<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

We stayed downtown and did a lot of walking.\u00a0 Our first stop was the Little Italy Farmers’ Market.\u00a0 It was packed with people, and I so enjoyed seeing all of the flowers, cheese, meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and more that they offered.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

Then we headed to a wonderful restaurant called Ironside.\u00a0 The food, service, and decor were outstanding.\u00a0 The wall behind me was completely covered in fish heads, but not in a creepy way.\u00a0 It was all very artsy.<\/h3>\n

The next day we rented a car and drove a lot.\u00a0 We went to the Torrey Pines Country Club for a look around.\u00a0 It was pouring the rain then, and I didn’t get photos.\u00a0 Rain is rare in the San Diego area, according to the locals, but it rained hard Sunday morning and Monday afternoon.We followed that up with a visit to Coronado Island, which was across the bay from San Diego.\u00a0 It was packed with charm, and I wanted to live in each little house that I saw.\u00a0 The famous Coronado Hotel is there, and we strolled around for a while.\u00a0 The hotel is over 100 years old and was decked out for Christmas.\u00a0 An herb and vegetable garden was planted between the hotel and the ocean.\u00a0 I was impressed that such a large hotel would have its own garden.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

Then we headed to the USS Midway for a tour.\u00a0 It’s the number one tourist attraction in San Diego.\u00a0 It could carry 4,500 people at one time when it was in service.\u00a0 It was a floating city that\u00a0 was in combat in several wars starting with World War II and ending with Desert Storm.\u00a0 Afterwards we ate fish tacos, which everyone told us we had to do.\u00a0 They were delicious.<\/h3>\n

We spent our last day at the San Diego Zoo and walked until we couldn’t walk anymore.\u00a0 Then we went back to Ironside for another delicious meal and followed it up by going to see “Allied”, starring Brad Pitt.\u00a0 It was excellent, and I highly recommend it.\u00a0 Mr. Right and I go to a lot of movies, and this one was really good.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

Then we caught an Uber to the airport and took the red-eye home.\u00a0 Jordan’s guests left today, and I will be caught up on cleaning and laundry, and we will both jump into our Christmas decorating.\u00a0 I did something I thought I would NEVER do, and I can’t wait to tell you.\u00a0 Meanwhile, come back tomorrow to see the cute advent calendar Jordan put together for Little Miss.<\/h3>\n
