{"id":32407,"date":"2016-09-05T17:01:53","date_gmt":"2016-09-05T22:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=32407"},"modified":"2016-09-05T17:01:53","modified_gmt":"2016-09-05T22:01:53","slug":"diy-fall-pillow-from-a-flannel-shirt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=32407","title":{"rendered":"DIY Fall Pillow from a Flannel Shirt"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>I have had so much fun in the past turning men&#8217;s plaid <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2015\/09\/20\/new-pillow-from-old-sport-coat-in-the-sunroom\/\">wool sports coats into perfect fall pillows <\/a>that I decided to go there again.\u00a0 Except this time was a little different.\u00a0 I used a man&#8217;s flannel shirt that I purchased for half price at the thrift store.\u00a0 I selected a large shirt in a fabric that I thought would look good on a scare crow.\u00a0 After all, if it&#8217;s good enough for a scare crow than it&#8217;s good enough for our outdoor bench..\u00a0 The steps were very simple, and I am not really a seamstress, but I can sew a straight line.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-32423\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_3148-682x1024.jpg\" alt=\"DIY Flannel Shirt Pillow - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5367-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5367-242x323.jpg 242w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5367-300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Then I removed the pocket because I wanted to reposition it.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-32413\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5369-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"DIY flannel shirt pllow s- The 2 Seasons\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5369-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5369-242x323.jpg 242w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5369-300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>How large to make the pillow depends on the size of the shirt.\u00a0 I positioned it so that I could cut out a good rectangle, and it ended up being about 20 inches by 16 inches which was a good size for my purpose.\u00a0 I then cut out the front and turned the shirt over and cut out the backing from the back of the shirt.\u00a0 Since I used a plaid pillow, I tried my best to cut it so that the plaids would match after the two pieces were sewed together.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-32414\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_5370-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"DIY flannel shirt pillow -
