{"id":30736,"date":"2016-03-23T18:00:11","date_gmt":"2016-03-23T23:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=30736"},"modified":"2016-03-23T18:59:21","modified_gmt":"2016-03-23T23:59:21","slug":"how-to-make-small-art-look-larger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=30736","title":{"rendered":"How to Make Small Art Look Larger"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>First of all, thanks to all of you who made comments and sent emails about <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2016\/03\/22\/little-misss-bedroom-reveal\/\">yesterday&#8217;s post<\/a>\u00a0it really made us smile reading all the kind words for the new addition to our family.\u00a0 One of the features of Little Miss&#8217;s room that was an easy DIY project was making the small elephant art look larger.\u00a0 We wanted to hang an elephant painting or giraffe painting over the twin-sized day bed, but they were all too small.\u00a0 Then my mom suggested that I buy a larger canvas, paint it, and attach the smaller canvas to it.\u00a0 Mom&#8217;s friend Carolyn gave her that idea when we gave this <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2014\/05\/20\/a-solution-is-found\/\">painting<\/a> as a gift.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30740\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/How-To-Make-Small-Art-Look-Larger-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"How to Make Small Art Look Larger - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"640\" height=\"897\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/How-To-Make-Small-Art-Look-Larger-731x1024.jpg 731w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/How-To-Make-Small-Art-Look-Larger-231x323.jpg 231w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/How-To-Make-Small-Art-Look-Larger-300x420.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>We bought the elephant canvas at Homegoods, but we found these <a href=\"http:\/\/tidd.ly\/bbf988e2\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/tidd.ly\/146f3198\">here<\/a> if you are interested in buying one for your home.\u00a0 The original elephant painting measured 22 by 28 inches.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You can tell from the photo that it would have disappeared even with a frame.\u00a0 So, I bought a white canvas that measured 36 by 48 inches.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30733\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9571-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Make a painting appear larger - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9571-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9571-430x287.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9571-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Then I applied\u00a0 one coat of paint using regular craft paint.\u00a0 The first coat was too yellow, so I added some white to soften it and painted it again.\u00a0 I let it dry a few hours before going on to the next step.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30732\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9574-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9574\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9574-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9574-430x287.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_9574-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>In order for the art to be centered on the canvas, I measured and marked the edges with painter&#8217;s tape.\u00a0 For the last step, I attached <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00PLVLD86\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B00PLVLD86&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=the2sea-20&amp;linkId=JMZOF7Z4H3Q44QOZ\">Command strips<\/a> to the art, and then stuck it to the canvas.\u00a0 It&#8217;s important to have it all centered properly before this last step, because once the art is attached to the canvas, it&#8217;s there forever.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30739\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_0083-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Make art look larger -
