{"id":29477,"date":"2015-12-07T19:00:43","date_gmt":"2015-12-08T00:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=29477"},"modified":"2015-12-07T09:36:08","modified_gmt":"2015-12-07T14:36:08","slug":"dos-and-donts-of-painting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=29477","title":{"rendered":"Do&#8217;s and Don&#8217;ts of Painting"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Hi, everyone. \u00a0Mom and I have been busy. \u00a0I&#8217;m sure you know the saying &#8220;While the cat is away, the mice will play. \u00a0Well, our cats are away. \u00a0Yankee is in China, and my dad is in Africa, but Mom and I haven&#8217;t been playing. \u00a0We&#8217;ve been working our fingers to the bone. \u00a0We thought their absence would be the perfect opportunity to knock out some of my house projects and not have to stop and take time to cook a meal or\u2026..take a shower );. \u00a0She flew down to Charlotte on Thursday. \u00a0We accomplished a lot and can&#8217;t wait to show our progress to you. \u00a0Here&#8217;s a hint: \u00a0&#8220;Little Miss&#8217;s&#8221; room (the reveal is in January) is almost ready, and we converted an armoire into a fantastic bar. \u00a0Oh, and we painted interior doors, organized my office, and hung some art. \u00a0Since we have spent our time dancing with a paint brush lately (she just painted her foyer in Lexington), we came up with some do&#8217;s and don&#8217;t of painting. \u00a0We might be preaching to the choir here, but maybe there are one or two new tips for you.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-29538\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Dos-Donts-of-Painting-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Dos &amp; It might take a little extra time at the beginning of your project, but it will save time later. \u00a0By not taping off the doors in one room, it took me over an hour to scrape dried paint off of the windows. \u00a0Remember to remove the tape as soon as your finish painting before it has time to dry.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-29540\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Painting-Mess.jpg\" alt=\"The Do's and Don'ts of Painting - The 2 Seasons\" width=\"640\" height=\"544\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Painting-Mess.jpg 960w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Painting-Mess-380x323.jpg 380w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Painting-Mess-300x255.jpg 300w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Painting-Mess-900x765.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>5. \u00a0Be sure to use a drop cloth. \u00a0A drop cloth doesn&#8217;t actually have to be canvas. \u00a0We have used beach towels, plastic drop cloths, and sheets, and they all work fine. \u00a0It&#8217;s just important to use something. \u00a0We have found that paint still can get on the floor, so, keep a wet rag handy for wiping up smears and drips.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-23767\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/IMG_8490-1024x648.jpg\" alt=\"Paint brush cleaning tip -
