As is the custom around here, we are going to revisit a post from last September.\u00a0 I made a stenciled wooden plaque, and it is still a timely project.\u00a0 Enjoy seeing it again.<\/h3>\n

We have had our gallery wall in our house for the last couple years, and I love it. \u00a0Recently a picture was knocked off by mistake, and to me it was a sign that it was time to change up the wall.\u00a0 Different textures and art add interest and versatility to a gallery wall,\u00a0 and I decided to stencil a wood plaque to add something new to ours.<\/h3>\n

I used this stencil and the paints that I purchased at Michaels.<\/h3>\n

It seems that doing projects with pieces of wood is all the rage right now, and this project fits right in.<\/h3>\n

I decided to tape off the outer edge of the plaque so I wouldn’t get paint on that section. \u00a0It would have been fine if I did, but I chose to just stencil on the smooth section of the wood.<\/h3>\n

The next step was to follow the directions and put some of the stencil adhesive on the stencil. \u00a0It dries and becomes a little tacky, but I could place it on the section I wanted to stencil and know it would stay.<\/h3>\n

I did the top section and removed the stencil and moved it down to the the other half of the piece of wood.<\/h3>\n

The fun thing about this stencil\u00a0 is that it had three different stencils in the pack,\u00a0 and I was able to \u00a0layer the stencils on top of each other. \u00a0I decided to put a bird on this piece of wood. \u00a0Again, I used the adhesive for this stencil and painted it a fun aqua pearl color.<\/h3>\n

Here is the bird.\u00a0 However I am going to layer the next stencil on top to give more detail.<\/h3>\n

I was nervous at first using this stencil, but it all worked out.\u00a0 I was able to add some detail to my bird.<\/h3>\n

And here it is with the rest of the gallery wall.\u00a0 I love how this easy stencil project now fills the empty space on our gallery wall.<\/h3>\n
