Hello, everyone.\u00a0 As I write this post, Jordan and Yankee are right in the middle of buying a house in Charlotte<\/a>.\u00a0 They have narrowed their selection down to two, and if they don’t get the first one, they’ll move on to the second.\u00a0 They also have two or three waiting in the wings in case they don’t get either of their top choices.\u00a0 (I’ll leave a note at the end of this post when I find out something.)\u00a0 Today I finally get to show you the last tweak that we made in our kitchen.\u00a0 So far you have seen the rustic shelves<\/a>, new hardware<\/a>, the buffet<\/a> that was once a hutch, the new\/old rug<\/a> and the updated pantry.<\/a><\/h3>\n

At the suggestion of my friend and kitchen designer Debra Hupman, I had Carpenter Greg remove the wooden doors that were on the center cabinet.\u00a0 He took the glass doors that had been on the hutch top, which moved to the pantry, and put them on this cabinet.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

That was after I painted the interior the same shade of gray as the kitchen peninsula.<\/h3>\n

Carpenter Greg also hardwired under counter lights and added lights to this cabinet’s interior along with very thick glass shelves.\u00a0 The lighting chore was the most expensive tweak that we did in the kitchen, but it was so worth it.\u00a0 I can’t believe the difference the under counter lights make to the entire room.<\/h3>\n

The dishes that are in this cabinet are the ones we use on a daily basis.\u00a0 There are four different sets of dinner plates along with blue stemmed water goblets and stemless blue water goblets.\u00a0 The top shelves hold a tureen and two gravy boats that we seldom use.<\/h3>\n

This is what it looked like before.\u00a0 I think it is a lot more interesting now.\u00a0 Don’t you?<\/h3>\n

Next, I am going to put all of these pictures together that I have taken over the past few weeks and give you a proper kitchen tour.\u00a0 But….there’s one more addition to our place that I haven’t even mentioned yet.\u00a0 Here’s a hint:\u00a0 It involves books, lots and lots of books.<\/h3>\n
