The annual Woodland Arts Fair that takes place annually in the park across from our townhouse was held this past week-end.\u00a0 I dropped in for a look around and was overwhelmed by how many people were there plus their dogs and kids’ strollers.<\/h3>\n

\"Art<\/h3>\n

The weather was perfect, and so the artists had a great chance to sell their beautiful creations.\u00a0 This fair was established 40 years ago, and now they have attendance upwards of 60,000 people.\u00a0 And here’s the thing.\u00a0 They are so quiet.\u00a0 I am in my office typing away, and I can’t hear a darned thing.\u00a0 I appreciate that.<\/h3>\n

A few years ago I served up some drinks on the stoop to my neighbors at the end of the first day of the fair.\u00a0 (We have a nice big “stoop” and mini patio in the front of our townhouse.) It was so fun and relaxing to watch all of the people stroll by.\u00a0 Last year we skipped it because the weather was not cooperating.<\/h3>\n

However, since Mother Nature was on our side this year, I decided to put the shindig on again but with fewer people this time.\u00a0 My artist neighbor and two friends from my art class came, and we had a delightful time with girl talk.\u00a0 (Eventually, one of the husbands dropped by.)<\/h3>\n

I made pink lemonade margaritas<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

I also made pesto<\/a> crostini, and Greek crostini<\/a>.\u00a0 It was just enough.<\/h3>\n

Passersby commented that they wanted to come to our little party.\u00a0 They realized what a great way it was to spend a Saturday evening.\u00a0 This was just proof to me once again that we can entertain in a very simple way and still have a great time.<\/h3>\n
