Hardware in the Kitchen"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>While I was busy having changes made in our kitchen (<a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2015\/08\/02\/an-update-in-the-pantry\/\">here,<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2015\/07\/26\/converting-a-hutch-to-a-buffet\/\">here<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2015\/08\/05\/my-new-old-kitchen-rug\/\">here<\/a>), I did not forget about the hardware.\u00a0 I loved the pulls and knobs we selected for our new cabinets when we remodeled four years ago.\u00a0 However, that love affair ended quickly when they started discoloring.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-28333\" 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3>I also felt that the old pulls just weren&#8217;t large enough.\u00a0 They didn&#8217;t carry enough visual weight for me.\u00a0 I wanted pulls that were longer.\u00a0 However, since the screw mounts were three inches apart, our new pulls needed to also be the same distance.\u00a0 I was able to find a pull that was five inches long with three inch mounts.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-28334\" 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>And to make the hunt even more specific, I wanted the pulls to be somewhat contemporary.\u00a0 Typing that word is difficult because our home is definitely not contemporary.\u00a0 It is traditional through and through.\u00a0 But with some of the <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2015\/07\/21\/rustic-shelves-in-a-modern-kitchen\/\">rustic additions<\/a> in our kitchen, I thought a contemporary pull would be the perfect yin to the rest of the kitchen&#8217;s yang.\u00a0 Debra Hupman, my friend who is a kitchen designer, agreed.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p pull that was somewhat farmhouse, but after visiting some wonderfully remodeled kitchens on a recent kitchen tour, I decided that the contemporary and chrome pulls were the way to go.\u00a0 I love the way they look with the rest of our kitchen.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-28133\" our kitchen towel bar turned pot hanger got the notice of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.housebeautiful.com\/room-decorating\/kitchens\/tips\/a3537\/little-counterspace-design-tricks\/?src=spr_FBPAGE&amp;spr_id=1451_162719881\">some magazines<\/a> recently.\u00a0 It will also be featured in my favorite Canadian magazine&#8217;s ( <em>House and Home<\/em>) September issue.\u00a0 Sadly, their photos are before the hutch became a buffet.\u00a0 We still have one more
