This summer Yankee and I visited his godparents for a long week-end.\u00a0 One of our meals included corn on the cob, and I didn’t even see Helena preparing it.\u00a0 She didn’t drag out a huge pot and boil water, there weren’t little bits of silk on the countertops, nor were there any husks lying around.\u00a0 She told me that she had microwaved the cobs with their silk and husks and then squeezed them out of their husks.\u00a0 I was amazed.\u00a0 In my world this has revolutionized the way I will ever prepare and eat corn on the cob.\u00a0 Mom and I tried it out when I visited her two weeks ago, and she was blown away, also.\u00a0 Since neither of us has ever heard of this method, I had<\/span> to share it with you in case you don’t know about it either.\u00a0 So, we have a lot of photos to show you our quick, easy, no-mess corn on the cob.<\/h3>\n

Put a whole ear of corn in your microwave.\u00a0 We nuked up to three at one time. The amount of time will vary depending on how powerful your microwave is, how large the corn is, and how many ears you cook at one time.\u00a0 We found that one ear takes two to three minutes.\u00a0 We did three ears maximum at one time, and they took eight minutes.\u00a0 We turned them half-way through.<\/h3>\n

Cut off the end of each ear.\u00a0 The husks will be very hot.\u00a0 We used a dish towel to protect our hands.<\/h3>\n

Cut off the end high enough that the pointed bottom is completely off.<\/h3>\n

Then start squeezing from the top.\u00a0 Again, if it is too hot, use a dish towel to protect your hands.<\/h3>\n

That’s all there is to it.\u00a0 Now, if the corn doesn’t start coming out when you squeeze the top, you might either need to nuke it a little longer or loosen up the husks where you made the cut.<\/h3>\n
