Hi everyone it has been a few months since my last<\/a> adoption update so I thought I would share the latest. \u00a0With our last update we mentioned we might be matched with a child in\u00a0April. \u00a0Unfortunately, that did not happen. \u00a0It turns out that due to my Crohn’s disease we needed to get approval from the officials of Thailand before we could officially be matched. \u00a0So we waited and became a tad nervous.<\/h3>\n

Finally, one day I happened to be on the road for work when my phone rang. \u00a0I saw it was our adoption\u00a0agency, and I took \u00a0a deep breath. \u00a0I didn’t know what to expect but the first words I heard were, “Congratulations, you have been approved.”\u00a0 Whew!\u00a0 That was a huge relief, and this is the call we had been waiting for in this process.<\/h3>\n

Adoption is all about baby steps, and this was a step in the right direction. \u00a0After some chatting, we were told we would be matched with a child in either July or the next quarter in September. \u00a0Guarantees cannot be made in this adoption process, but I am hoping it will be July.<\/h3>\n

If it is not July I know I will be bummed, but I will know it wasn’t meant to be and we will just wait till the next round. \u00a0I try not to think much about waiting and instead focus on all the fun things in my life –\u00a0 spending time with Yankee, camping, traveling, etc.<\/h3>\n

So, at this point I guess there’s not much to say, but hopefully, my next update we will be matched with our child and start the bonding process from afar.<\/h3>\n

When we are matched, we will be allowed to send a photo album of pictures of our family so our little one will become acquainted from afar with its new family.\u00a0 While I was visiting my parents last week-end, I took their photo and finally got them to make a final decision on what they want to be called.\u00a0 Mom is going to be “Coco” just because she thinks it will be easy to say and because she likes the sound of it.\u00a0 It has nothing to do with anything other than she likes it.\u00a0 My dad will be Gramps although he really likes Grandpa.<\/h3>\n

That’s where we stand right now.\u00a0 We knew it would be a long and slow process, and so we are being very patient with our situation.\u00a0 When we find out more, we will pass it on to you.\u00a0 Thank you all for your support and comments.\u00a0 They mean a lot to us.<\/h3>\n
