When I was growing up, most of my clothes came from the dining room table.\u00a0 I would pick out things that I loved in <em>Seventeen<\/em> magazine, and then my mother, who spends her spare time either <a title=\"Grandma\u2019s Quilting Bee\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/03\/17\/grandmas-quilting-bee-2\/\">sewing<\/a> or <a title=\"Grandma\u2019s Country Garden\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/06\/23\/grandmas-country-garden\/\">gardening<\/a>, cut them out on the table and sewed them for me.\u00a0 Whenever I saw something I liked, she would always say, &#8220;I can make that for less,&#8221; You might remember <a title=\"Fabric and More\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2014\/08\/19\/fabric\/\">this post<\/a> from last summer when I bought a bunch of fabric samples for 50 cents each at a\u00a0 local fabric\/upholstery shop.\u00a0 That was not typical, but if you regularly stop in fine fabric stores, you might be able to score some remnants.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26515\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0032-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"Custom pillows\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0032-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0032-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0032-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>I like a fluffy but tight pillow, so, I always cuts the fabric to a 19 inch square for a 20 inch insert.\u00a0 This allows 1\/2 inch seams all the way around and makes a fluffy pillow.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26521\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_00411-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"Custom pillows\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_00411-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_00411-430x286.jpg 430w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_00411-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>2.\u00a0 Use painter&#8217;s drop cloth as the backing.<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; This is probably the most important step for two reasons.\u00a0 First of all, throw pillows that look the best are usually down\/feather.\u00a0 Second, these inserts can be taken from one pillow and put in another.\u00a0 That means you can just fold the pillow covers and store them away.\u00a0 Although down inserts (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B008225FNA\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B008225FNA&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=the2sea-20&amp;linkId=TM7QPM4P7AK3DS7N\">here<\/a>) are an investment at first, if you use them over and over with different covers for different seasons, then they are worth the price.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26526\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0063-681x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Custom pillows\" width=\"556\" height=\"835\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0063-681x1024.jpg 681w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0063-215x323.jpg 215w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_0063-300x450.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>4.\u00a0<strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Consider buying a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003VWXZKG\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B003VWXZKG&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=the2sea-20&amp;linkId=COCEVL3MEHJ6CNKH\">sewing machine<\/a> if you don&#8217;t own one.<\/span><\/strong> &#8211;
