Last week when I published a blog post about our new dining room chairs, something looked “off” to me in the photos, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.\u00a0 I\u00a0 just knew something wasn’t right.\u00a0 Then I read this post <\/a>by Mary Ann, which we featured on Saturday<\/a>.\u00a0 I knew immediately what I had done wrong and what needed to be corrected.<\/h3>\n

Can you see the change I made????\u00a0 Right.\u00a0 I lowered the art and\/or added some more.\u00a0 In the first photo you can see that the art needed to be lower.<\/h3>\n

Instead of lowering it, I shifted one painting and added another.\u00a0 In this little reading corner in the great room, I added another painting under the top one.\u00a0 By the way, those two are my latest paintings that I haven’t shown you.<\/h3>\n

In this space between the two doorways, I added a small oil painting that used to hang on the other wall.\u00a0 It fits this space much better.\u00a0 It is off-center because of the darn light switch.\u00a0 I am pleased to say that since I followed my own suggestions<\/a>, the silver didn’t have to be polished for this photo because it was already looking great.\u00a0 You can read about my cherry painting here<\/a>.\u00a0 I bought the small oil painting from my art teacher who painted in on a trip to Ireland.<\/h3>\n

Here’s a close-up of a still life I did.\u00a0 First, I created a vignette and took a photo of it.\u00a0 I then followed the photo for my painting.\u00a0 It was really fun to paint this one.\u00a0 I feel as if I have started creating my own style, which I am calling loosey-goosey.\u00a0 It looks a little washed out in this photo.\u00a0 It is really bright.<\/h3>\n

This is another one that is very whimsical.\u00a0 I like it a lot, too.\u00a0 However, I think my art teacher isn’t so sure.<\/h3>\n
