Since I missed October here in Kentucky, I had to find it when we got home from our trip<\/a> to Europe.\u00a0 That translates to mean that I just put out my fall decorations last week.\u00a0 I am sure those of you who have already finished decorating for Christmas are probably shuddering, but I want to enjoy fall and Thanksgiving first.\u00a0 Thanksgiving is my all-time favorite holiday, and I want to milk it for everything it’s worth.<\/h3>\n

One of the things I did while putting out the fall colors was make a change in the foyer<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We did have a bench in the foyer, but we decided to move it to another spot in the house, and I’ll be sure to show that new set-up to you soon.\u00a0 We replaced it with a marble-topped dresser that had been in the upstairs hallway.<\/h3>\n

The morning sun was coming through the windows when I took these photos.\u00a0 To create a nice November vignette, I pulled out a rattan cornucopia and filled it with gourds, pumpkins, and antlers.\u00a0 To add a little surprise, I added a long strand of pearls.\u00a0 I have been using that cluster of wheat for at least 15 years.\u00a0 It just gets stored away nicely at the end of each November.<\/h3>\n

I love all of the textures and fall colors.\u00a0 There’s even a pine cone stuck away there in the back.<\/h3>\n

This lamp is really old.\u00a0 My mother had it when I was a little girl, and I think it came from her mother.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My mother made the shade when I was little, and I just painted it black.\u00a0 There is no way that it will get replaced with something new and plush.\u00a0 There’s too much sentimental value there.<\/h3>\n

The rug from Turkey<\/a> still works great in here with the colors we love, and……<\/h3>\n

….the plates still work well, too.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now that we have this dresser here in the foyer, it will be a great place to put seasonal vignettes.<\/h3>\n
