Now that summer is ending and our lives are kicking back up into high gear, it always helps when every space, like the laundry room, is organized.\u00a0 Even with just the two of us, it seems as if we have way more laundry than just two people should.<\/h3>\n

So, I came up with a new system for organizing the (ahem) dirty<\/del> soiled clothes. (This is a first here on The 2 Seasons<\/em>.\u00a0 We are literally airing our dirty laundry).<\/h3>\n

When Jordan and I first started blogging, I made four of these tags labeled whites, darks, pastels, and delicates to hang on the dirty clothes baskets that we use.\u00a0 They were cute, but they really didn’t work too well.\u00a0 They hung down too far, and it was hard for us to see.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

Since we use four baskets for our dirty clothes and keep them in the laundry room,\u00a0 I decided to just paint the handles to color code\u00a0 the baskets.\u00a0 For instance, this one is for the whites.<\/h3>\n

I used this medium blue for the pastels.<\/h3>\n

And of course, the baskets for the darks received a black handle.\u00a0 I have a basket for my own delicates and didn’t paint that handle at all.<\/h3>\n

Even though this system is great for us two empty-nesters, it would be a great system to use with small children.<\/h3>\n

We hope you all had a great week-end.\u00a0 The arts fair across from our house was packed with people on Saturday, but rain put a major damper on it Sunday.\u00a0 We managed to get in a nice beautiful bicycle ride and had a great time at an event held here in Lexington called Picnic With the Pops.\u00a0 It’s basically a very elegant picnic at the Keeneland Race Course for thousands of people.\u00a0 Tables for eight are set up, and everyone takes their food, drinks, and table decor.\u00a0 Some people decorate their table with an elaborate theme and compete for prizes, some people use beautiful linens and tableware, and others just use paper plates.\u00a0 Musician Michael Cavanaugh played and sang Elton John tunes with the Philharmonic Orchestra.\u00a0 It rained a little, but we just pulled out our umbrellas and ate while singing along.<\/h3>\n
