{"id":23828,"date":"2014-08-14T18:00:01","date_gmt":"2014-08-14T23:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=23828"},"modified":"2014-11-21T10:46:52","modified_gmt":"2014-11-21T15:46:52","slug":"blueberry-pie-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=23828","title":{"rendered":"Blueberry Pie Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">My garden club has a members only picnic every August, and I always take a homemade pie.\u00a0 Normally, I take my coconut pie (<a title=\"Old-Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/08\/16\/old-fashioned-coconut-cream-pie\/\">here<\/a>) with the meringue topping.\u00a0 However, meringue doesn&#8217;t do too well in high humidity, and last Sunday when the picnic took place, the air was heavy with moisture.\u00a0 Since we are in the middle of blueberry season, I opted to make a blueberry pie, which is one of the easiest pies to make.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t involve any peeling of fruit.\u00a0 All you have to do is wash the berries well and remove any stems.\u00a0 To make it even easier, I always purchase the pre-made pie crusts at the grocery.\u00a0 That&#8217;s my kind of dessert.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-23830\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Blueberry-Pie-681x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Blueberry Pie\" width=\"409\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Blueberry-Pie-681x1024.jpg 681w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Blueberry-Pie-215x323.jpg 215w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Blueberry-Pie.jpg 2011w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0I used an old-fashioned recipe from a pie and cake book that my third grade teacher gave me for a wedding gift.\u00a0 The pages are stained and yellowed, but it still works.\u00a0 It is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0696003902\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0696003902&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=the2sea-20&amp;linkId=CTCTHXJLQZ6EQEEX\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Better<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Homes and Gardens Pies and Cakes<\/span><\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 I have a very early edition of it and discovered that\u00a0 it is still available, if you are interested. \u00a0Just click the link.<\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BLUEBERRY PIE<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Unbaked pastry for a two-crust pie<\/h3>\n<h3>4 cups blueberries<\/h3>\n<h3>3\/4 to 1 cup sugar<\/h3>\n<h3>3 tablespoons all-purpose flour<\/h3>\n<h3>1\/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel<\/h3>\n<h3>1\/2 teaspoon cinnamon<\/h3>\n<h3>1\/2 teaspoon nutmeg<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; Place one crust in a 9 inch pie pan.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; Combine the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl.\u00a0 Pour them into the pan.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; Top with the remaining crust.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211;
