Who knew you could make an adorable tabletop vignette with items from the local farm store?\u00a0 I would have been a doubter, but since I’m the one who put it together, I’m now a believer.\u00a0 Last week when I visited my parents, my brother and I spent a morning together.\u00a0 We visited the town where we grew up, and I put in a request to stop at the local farm store.\u00a0 I told him that part of being a successful blogger is being able to use ordinary things in interesting ways.\u00a0 He replied, “You mean, like stirring soup with a fly swatter”?\u00a0 Not exactly, but hmmmmm, I might think about that…..<\/h3>\n

When I shopped at the farm store, I had no idea what I would find.\u00a0 After browsing the aisles, I found three things that struck my fancy.\u00a0 One was a tin pan that might be used to hold feed.\u00a0 I thought it had great potential as a tray.\u00a0 Another is a whisking broom<\/a> for texture, and the last item was an egg bucket.<\/h3>\n

The feeder became the perfect vessel to hold the broom, a vase of flowers from my courtyard garden, and the egg bucket which could hold some fresh peaches.<\/h3>\n

Isn’t that egg bucket the cutest thing?\u00a0 It satisfies my craving for red in the kitchen.\u00a0 It will probably be a very versatile accessory that will pop up in many places around the house.\u00a0 It can hold rolled up hand towels in the bath, wooden kitchen utensils in the kitchen, or a plant in the great room.<\/h3>\n

To bring in the navy from my freshly painted bench<\/a>, I added a stack of assorted blue and white plates.<\/h3>\n

For more interest and texture, I folded up some dish towels.\u00a0 Do any of you own these towels?\u00a0 I found them on Amazon (here)<\/a> when I needed some practical new dish towels.\u00a0 They are so cute, and I have used them as napkins and place mats, too.\u00a0 They came in bulk and were priced very reasonably.\u00a0 I topped them off with some French matches.<\/h3>\n

The vignette is loaded with textures, colors, and finishes.\u00a0 The broom adds roughness, and the silver candleholder adds some unexpected elegance.<\/h3>\n

All three of the items combined came in at under $10.00, and the possibilities are endless.\u00a0 They turned out to be a great foundation for a cute centerpiece.<\/h3>\n
