Hi all!\u00a0 Mom and I are on day two of her visit.\u00a0 If you follow us on Instagram<\/a>, then you know what we were up to this morning.\u00a0 When I picked her at the airport yesterday, we headed straight to a lunch of sushi followed by a visit to Syracuse’s annual Parade of Homes.\u00a0 Twelve newly built houses were featured this year, and we took tons of pictures while sharing our opinions with each other about what we liked and didn’t like.\u00a0 We will be writing a post about the things we really liked soon.\u00a0 We think you will like these ideas, too.<\/h3>\n

One idea that we saw was so simple and so cute that we rushed right home and did it.\u00a0 You might remember seeing this mini mudroom<\/a> that Mr. Spring built as a surprise for me when I was away on business last year.<\/h3>\n

This is the first idea we stole<\/del> borrowed from the show.\u00a0 Isn’t it cute!!\u00a0 It was very easy and took just a few minutes.<\/h3>\n

The coincidence is that the pillow on the bench in the show home was the very same pillow I already had on our bench.\u00a0 They used a paint color to match the pillow, and we decided to do the same.\u00a0 First, we selected the font style that we wanted.<\/h3>\n

Then while I made sure that there wasn’t any residue on the bench that would keep the paint from sticking…..<\/h3>\n

…..Mom used some skills she picked up in her art classes to match the pillow’s color.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

So that we would make sure our letters were spaced evenly, we first did the “S” and “T”.\u00a0 Then we inserted the “I” and lined it up to be an equal distance from those two letters.<\/h3>\n

This is our final product.<\/h3>\n

This is the one from the home show.\u00a0 The English teacher in Mom wanted to add punctuation, but we eventually decided to just do the word.<\/h3>\n

While we were at it, we added a three-letter stencil to one more thing.\u00a0 We’ll share that with you later.<\/h3>\n
