If you have been reading The 2 Seasons<\/em> for a while, you know that I am on the look-out for a less formal dining table to put into the dining area of our great room.\u00a0 I think I have found THE ONE, but it’s such a commitment.\u00a0 I haven’t gotten up the nerve yet to push the “purchase” button.\u00a0 Meanwhile, I am still using our investment table and coming up with vignettes for it that will make it a little less country club looking.<\/h3>\n

You know I like to shop the house when changing things around, and that’s what I did this time, too.\u00a0 When I was looking at my photos, I realized the vignette would probably look better with something grounding it like a tray or a runner.\u00a0 That didn’t happen, though.<\/h3>\n

The plate’s pattern is Princeton by Johnson Brothers.<\/h3>\n

My grandmother had this pattern, and my mother gave me just one of those plates.\u00a0 However, I have found a few pieces on ebay from time to time and really enjoy owning them.\u00a0 This meat platter is really a beauty.<\/h3>\n

These faux lemons are the most realistic fakes (I love a good oxymoron) that I have ever seen.\u00a0 I have had them for years, and they are always turning up in different places around the house.<\/h3>\n

The books came from our public library’s annual book sale.\u00a0 I bought a whole set of them because I loved the bright colors.<\/h3>\n

I stole<\/del> borrowed the magnifying glass from Mr. Right’s desk.\u00a0 Shhhh….don’t tell him.<\/h3>\n

And of course, you all know what this is.\u00a0 I have several old wooden spools in different sizes and colors.\u00a0 I chose the yellow one for this display because it goes so well with the lemons.<\/h3>\n

I love the freshness and colors in this tabletop grouping and plan to leave it like this for much of the summer.\u00a0 However, I might just put them in a tray or a basket for a more unified look.<\/h3>\n
