I swore (actually I double swore) that I would never add another speck of wallpaper to any wall in any home that I owned.\u00a0 Well, I lied.\u00a0 I just finished a little wallpaper project in my pantry\/office that has made a huge impact on the way it looks.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the photos are only so-so.\u00a0 You’ll have to take my word for it.<\/h3>\n

This is a photo of the pantry side of my pantry\/office combo.\u00a0 (I’ll show you some upgrades on the office side soon).\u00a0 This is the space that I use for the prep work\/assembling of all of my baking.\u00a0 The lower cabinets hold the pans, bowls, dishes, and the upper cabinets hold the ingredients, along with all of our other boxed or canned vittles.<\/h3>\n

When we remodeled, we didn’t add a back-splash to this area because I didn’t think it would need it.\u00a0 That was a big mistake.\u00a0 You can imagine how messy it became after splatters of cake batter, cookie dough, puddings, fillings, and icings went flying everywhere.\u00a0 I tried to keep it wiped down, but eventually, the splatters won.\u00a0 Plus, the room just seemed unfinished with just the bare walls going unprotected.<\/h3>\n

I had heard rave reviews about the beadboard wallpaper that Rhoda recommends\/uses\/sells over at Southern Hospitality<\/a>.\u00a0 I decided to give it a spin and measured the wall space that I wanted to cover.\u00a0 It amounted to less than a single roll.\u00a0 I ordered it, and it came in just a few days.\u00a0 The only down side to the whole process was that I felt the shipping rates were extremely high – as in almost as much as the wallpaper.<\/h3>\n

I had an empty morning last week and was able to hang the wallpaper in just under two hours.\u00a0 I put it under all of the cabinets, including the ones on the office side.<\/h3>\n

It looks and feels just as real as this wooden beadboard that we have in the adjacent kitchen. And by the way, why didn’t I see that banana before<\/em><\/strong> I took the photo???<\/h3>\n

Here’s the side by side comparison.\u00a0 The only reason there is a difference in color is because of the different lighting in the two rooms.\u00a0 The kitchen has a lot more natural light coming in.\u00a0 So, my dirty little secret is out.\u00a0 I did wallpaper again, but this is the very, last time.\u00a0 I promise.<\/h3>\n
