{"id":21210,"date":"2014-01-02T18:15:46","date_gmt":"2014-01-02T23:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=21210"},"modified":"2014-01-03T09:31:16","modified_gmt":"2014-01-03T14:31:16","slug":"puppy-dog-revisited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=21210","title":{"rendered":"Puppy Dog, Revisited"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>I don&#8217;t think Puppy Dog was the original header for this revisited recipe, but that&#8217;s what I am calling it today. \u00a0Around these parts, Friday could also be called Foodday because we have featured a recipe on Fridays since the very early days of our blogging endeavor. \u00a0In fact, my son, who is not a foodie, told me that when he sees it&#8217;s a recipe post, he doesn&#8217;t even bother reading. \u00a0That&#8217;s okay by me because I bet he wouldn&#8217;t have any problem eating said recipe.<\/h3>\n<h3>We have featured a loot (pun intended) of recipes. \u00a0Just do the math. \u00a0Three years times 52 weeks equals a lot of Fridays. \u00a0Now, granted, we haven&#8217;t had a recipe <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">every<\/span> Friday, but we almost have. \u00a0They have mostly been very tasty, but I don&#8217;t think you could call all of them cute. \u00a0So, that&#8217;s why we are featuring this particular recipe on this our last day of 2013 revisited posts. \u00a0The final product is just so darn cute, and I bet you will agree.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">*****<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I was feeling creative in the kitchen this week and decided to bake some cupcakes for the staff at Gracie\u2019s doggie daycare. \u00a0Yes, our dog goes to daycare sometimes to help use up some of her high energy. \u00a0A four-mile run doesn\u2019t always cut it. \u00a0Mom suggested I make something dog- related for them, and the searching began. \u00a0I looked on Pinterest and found a cute picture of a puppy-like cupcake, but there were no directions. \u00a0 I guessed on some of the things, and they turned out great!!<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Puppy Cupcake - The 2 Seasons\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Cupcake-finished-1024x688.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"413\" \/><\/h3>\n<div title=\"Puppy Cupcake - The 2 Seasons\"><\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Here it is \u00a0&#8211; a puppy cupcake, and they are super easy.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Cupcake \" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Cupcake-plain-1024x570.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"342\" \/><\/h3>\n<div title=\"Cupcake \"><\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0 I followed a cookies \u2018n\u2019 cream cupcake recipe, and honestly, it wasn\u2019t that amazing. \u00a0If I make them again, I will go with a vanilla cupcake and vanilla frosting.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Rolling caramels\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Cupcake-rolling-carmels-1024x682.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"409\" \/><\/h3>\n<div title=\"Rolling caramels\"><\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">While the cupcakes baked, I prepped the dog ears. \u00a0The cupcake dog ears \u2013 not my real dog\u2019s ears. \u00a0I used caramels that I bought in the bulk food section. \u00a0I microwaved three of them at a time for about seven seconds \u00a0just to make them a tad soft and easy to roll. Each caramel made one floppy ear.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Puppy ears for cupcakes\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Cupcake-carmel-1024x682.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"409\" \/><\/h3>\n<div title=\"Puppy ears for cupcakes\"><\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Once the ears were rolled out, I took my kitchen shears and just cut out ear shapes. \u00a0Some were longer than others, but I thought it was okay. \u00a0You can use a knife, but I had better success with the kitchen shears.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sugar sheet\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/sugar.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/h3>\n<div title=\"Sugar sheet\"><\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">After prepping the ears, I made the tongues. \u00a0I used a pink sugar sheet by Wilton. \u00a0Again, I used shears which were easier for me to work with than a knife. \u00a0This is the first time I have ever worked with a sugar sheet, and I am a fan. \u00a0Once I cut out the tongues, I made a little mark in the middle so they would look more realistic. \u00a0 When the\u00a0cutouts were prepped, I iced the cupcakes and put a little more in one area to add definition and to hold the nose (a chocolate covered raisin or peanut) and the tongue.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"text-align: center\">After I had spread the icing, I made the eyes with black decorating gel . \u00a0Then \u00a0I added the ears, nose and tongue, and I had a puppy cupcake.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Puppy Cupcake- The 2 Seasons\" alt=\"\"
