{"id":20952,"date":"2013-12-03T19:00:05","date_gmt":"2013-12-04T00:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=20952"},"modified":"2013-12-03T19:01:49","modified_gmt":"2013-12-04T00:01:49","slug":"showing-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=20952","title":{"rendered":"Showing Off"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>This past holiday week-end we hosted some out-of-town guests from Nebraska.\u00a0 They are the parents of our son&#8217;s fiancee, and it was their first visit here.\u00a0 We wanted to have a little hostess gift for them, and so, I put together a box of goodies to show off some of the local items produced around here.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-20960\" alt=\"Guest Gift\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Guest-Gift-681x1024.jpg\" width=\"409\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Guest-Gift-681x1024.jpg 681w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Guest-Gift-215x323.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Since everyone has heard of Kentucky Fried Chicken (now KFC), I stopped by a store and bought one of their buckets.\u00a0 It made the perfect container for everything we bought.\u00a0 We were sad to see that the colonel no longer holds the main spot of honor on the bucket.\u00a0 His mug has been replaced by a chicken leg and breast, and he has been moved to the side.\u00a0 (Picture me with a sad face.)<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-20954\" alt=\"Guest gift\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6771-1024x731.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6771-1024x731.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6771-430x307.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">To add some softness to the bucket, I filled the bottom of it with some shredded packing paper.\u00a0 Then I added the goodies.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-20955\" alt=\"Guest gift\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6772-1024x681.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"409\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6772-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6772-430x286.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Ale 8 &#8211; 1 is a local soft drink that everyone who visits Kentucky <em>must<\/em> try.\u00a0 I also added some Kentucky popcorn, and a candy bar called Blue Monday.\u00a0 It sort of tastes like a sweet Peppermint Patty.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-20956\" alt=\"Guest gift\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6774-1024x796.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6774-1024x796.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/IMG_6774-415x323.jpg 415w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Ninety per cent of the world&#8217;s bourbon is made within 50 miles of where we live, but I didn&#8217;t want to add just bourbon.\u00a0 (We made sure they drank some during our cocktail hour, though.)\u00a0 Instead, I bought bourbon jelly and bourbon balls which are like truffles that have been infused with bourbon&#8230;..\u00a0 I know&#8230;&#8230;
