Mom and I are taking a little road trip today to Sharon Springs, NY which we are excited about. It’s the home of the Fabulous Beekman Boys, and we are big fans of theirs.\u00a0 They won the Amazing Race a few seasons ago, and you know we love that show<\/a>. You might like this \u00a0upgrade I made before she arrived on Friday.\u00a0 For about two years we lived with the \u00a0landing in our stairway looking like this. It is nice and bright, thanks to a perfectly placed window, but its mood was dark. All it had going on there was a lone mirror that once lived its life in a brassy color. I spray painted it black and and left it at that.<\/h3>\n

Then I was browsing at Home Goods one day, and the perfect side table jumped into my cart. I couldn’t help myself, and I took it home.<\/h3>\n

This \u00a0table was available in three colors – black, green, and antiqued teal, which is what I selected. It immediately woke up the little landing and put it on the map.<\/h3>\n

It looks great from every angle.<\/h3>\n

I accessorized it with items we already had like the lantern which makes a soft glow at night, the books, and the bell I found at the Christmas Tree Shop for 50 cents.<\/h3>\n

Another small change that helped the space is that I rotated the mirror. It looks more balanced now.<\/h3>\n

So, now when we start walking up the stairs, we get to look at this instead of a boring, blank space. It’s much better.<\/h3>\n
