You all know that I love a good painted piece of furniture as much as you do. \u00a0Recently one of my friends just moved for a new job and contacted me saying she didn’t have a dresser and could she hire me to find one and paint it. \u00a0She liked the pieces in my house and wanted something in her new place. \u00a0Of course, I excitedly said yes.<\/h3>\n

My first step was finding the perfect dresser for my friend. \u00a0She wanted straight lines and more of a modern feel. \u00a0I happened to be at Salvation Army store one day. \u00a0(Okay, let’s be honest. \u00a0I happen to be there almost every day.) \u00a0I came across this dresser by a company called Dixie.<\/h3>\n

I thought this would be perfect for my friend, so I brought this bad boy home. \u00a0The dresser is very sturdy with a smooth finish and good, strong, working drawers.<\/h3>\n

I also liked the handles and knew after a little paint they would look great, and I could reuse them.<\/h3>\n

The day I began work on this dresser was beautiful and so perfect for working outside. \u00a0I did sand and prime before I went to the painting step. \u00a0She wanted a mossy green so I \u00a0used Olympic paint and in the color Moss Point in satin.<\/h3>\n

I wanted the dresser to have a statement point, and the trim around the drawers was the perfect thing. \u00a0After painting the dresser, I went in with a little brush and painted the trim black.<\/h3>\n

Ta dah! Here is the after. \u00a0I love it, and so does my friend. \u00a0(Sorry the after pictures are in my garage.) \u00a0I just love what a little paint and T.L.C. can do to update a dresser.<\/h3>\n
