Happy Monday!!!\u00a0 Mr. Right and I just finished up our bicycle ride from Pittsburgh, PA to Washington, DC for the third year in a row.\u00a0 It has become an annual event because we are literally in the middle of nowhere for six long days, and it is perfection.<\/h3>\n

\"Pittsburgh\"<\/p>\n

This year’s weather was the best yet even though it was a muggy morning when we said good-bye to Pittsburgh.<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

\"Riverside\"<\/p>\n

The first three days we rode on the Allegheny Trail, which is an old railroad route that is now a bike trail.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Continental<\/p>\n

We passed some historic sites like the continental divide…..<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Mason-Dixon<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

and the Mason – Dixon Line.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Farmland\"<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

We passed some beautiful farmland along the way.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Cumberland,<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

Once we arrived in Cumberland, MD, the trail became the mules’ tow trail along the C & O Canal.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Locks\"<\/p>\n

We passed by sixty some locks.\u00a0 This one was in good condition.\u00a0 Some were unrecognizable.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

When they were working, the locks required constant supervision.\u00a0 The families of the employees lived in these houses.<\/h3>\n

All along the way there were parks for bikers who were camping.\u00a0 We stayed in warm and cozy B and B’s every night to get a good rest, a good shower, and a good meal.<\/h3>\n

After 360 miles in six days, we arrived at the end of the trail in Georgetown.\u00a0 This spot is located right beside the Four Seasons hotel.<\/h3>\n

\"Enroute\"<\/p>\n

We were tired but happy that we made it again.\u00a0 All plans are a go to make the ride again next year.\u00a0 Our son lives in DC, and he is always there waiting for us with a smile and a hug.\u00a0 Now it’s time to get ready for our next adventure – a walking tour in England’s Cotwolds. \u00a0To rest up, I am embarrassed to admit that I just watched the entire first season of House of Cards<\/em> since we came home. \u00a0I am totally addicted and couldn’t stop. \u00a0Help!!!!<\/h3>\n
