I can sum my week-end up in two words:\u00a0 class reunion<\/em>.\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 You all have been there – right????\u00a0 Well, I am here to report a good time was had by all.\u00a0 Even Mr. Right enjoyed it.\u00a0 He is such a good sport.\u00a0 I grew up in a tiny little town, and there were only 59 seniors in my graduating class.\u00a0 We received a great education, had a great time, and made our mamas proud.<\/h3>\n

\"Class<\/p>\n

This is my friend Susan who went on to be a registered nurse and a medical administrator.\u00a0 Thank goodness they gave us all nametags with our senior photos on them so we could more easily remember names and what we used<\/strong> to look like.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is the 17-year-old me.\u00a0 It was back in the day of Twiggy, and I tried to copy her hair style.\u00a0 Oh, what I wish I could tell that girl.\u00a0 If I could write a letter to my 17-year-old self, these are just a few<\/span> of the things I would tell her:<\/h3>\n

\"New<\/p>\n

\u00a0– Don’t worry so much about that chemistry grade.\u00a0 The closest you’ll ever get to using chemistry\u00a0 in your adult life is baking and mixing drinks.\u00a0 Ditto for algebra.\u00a0 On the other hand, you should have paid more attention to history because you really will enjoy it in your future.\u00a0 Visiting historical homes and learning about famous historical people will be a favorite past time.\u00a0 Be glad you enjoyed geography because you will use it – a lot.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Wedding\"<\/p>\n

\u00a0– You know that boy you really, really like?\u00a0 Well, in two years, he is going to dump you.\u00a0 What you won’t know then, though, is that he did you a major favor and paved the way for you to meet Mr. Right.\u00a0 If you ever see him again, thank him.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"Grandma\/Grandad\"<\/p>\n

\u00a0– Your parents were right.\u00a0 Getting an education was the most important thing to do for yourself.\u00a0 Also, minding your manners will always be important, and strive to be a good girl.\u00a0 You’ll run into some mean girls along the way, and good girls are always better.\u00a0 You also don’t know it, but your parents will live a long, healthy, and active life, and you will benefit from their presence for many, many wonderful years to come.<\/h3>\n

\"My<\/p>\n

You will have two amazing children.\u00a0 You will do anything in the world for them.\u00a0 I know it is hard for a 17-year-old to imagine that, but it is true.\u00a0 They will rock your world.<\/h3>\n

You were really upset when you weren’t selected to be editor of the high school paper, but that’s okay, too.\u00a0 You will get a degree in journalism, work as a newspaper reporter, and go on to teach writing.\u00a0 Eventually, you will be an editor of something called a blog.\u00a0 It’s kind of hard to describe, but there will be something called the internet, and you and your daughter will write articles, and people all over the world will read them.\u00a0 It’s kind of complicated to explain.\u00a0 Just take my word for it.<\/h3>\n

There’s\u00a0 much more I could tell you, but you are still of the thinking that anyone over 30 is ancient.\u00a0 I will leave with this:\u00a0 You are in for an amazing ride.\u00a0 Enjoy every minute of it.<\/h3>\n
