When I spent a week in Rotterdam in August after my bike\/boat ride, my friend took me to a store called Kook Punt, which translates from Dutch to English to mean Boiling Point.\u00a0 What a treat.\u00a0 It was like a Williams-Sonoma (which is my all-time favorite store) on steroids.<\/h3>\n

I think that Boiling Point is a great name for a store that is all about cooking and more.<\/h3>\n

At times I thought I was in a candy store.\u00a0 The store knows how to put displays together, and they were a feast for the eyes.\u00a0 These are storage bins for cakes, bread, cookies, etc.\u00a0 They reminded me of tackle boxes for fishing.<\/h3>\n

The Kitchenaids were in every possible color.<\/h3>\n

And more.\u00a0 Do you see a color that matches your kitchen?<\/h3>\n

They had more than just things for the kitchen.<\/h3>\n

Yep, there were useful items for (ahem) every room.<\/h3>\n

Their marketing strategy must work.\u00a0 I wanted to buy one of everything.\u00a0 The nice thing about the store is that they had something in every price range.\u00a0 A shopper could buy a pack of fancy toothpicks or a fancy Wolf stove.<\/h3>\n

Hmmmm, which cup should I use today???<\/h3>\n

These colorful cups were so cute.\u00a0 They looked like a crushed plastic cup except they were ceramic.\u00a0 I loved every one of them.<\/h3>\n

This is a regular sized frig by most European standards, but here it would be great in a rec room kitchenette or a mother-in-law wing. \u00a0Yes, please.<\/h3>\n

They had a huge selection of copper……<\/h3>\n

…..And rooms full of dishes like this stoneware.\u00a0 They had many, many patterns of fine china, too.<\/h3>\n

One of my favorite areas was the cookbook room which was stacked with the latest.\u00a0 Unfortunately for me, most of them weren’t in English.\u00a0 It was a very calm room with many Oriental rugs, old tables and chairs for sitting and browsing.<\/h3>\n

I loved the patina of this old table.\u00a0 It is the finish of my dream dining room table.<\/h3>\n

Before I close, I wanted to share this little treat that Francien and I had before we went to Kook Punt.\u00a0 We rode our bicycles to a river-side cafe, and we each had a delightful little delicacy.\u00a0 She had chocolate mint cheesecake with mint tea.\u00a0 (Excuse the photo quality.)<\/h3>\n

The cafe uses these sporks, and we weren’t even camping.<\/h3>\n

I loved the way the tea was served.\u00a0 Each little jar had a different tea with a description of its flavors typed up.\u00a0 They included tea sacs so I could put my flavor choice in a little sac, seal it, and steep it in my hot water.\u00a0 So cute.<\/h3>\n
