We hope you had a great long week-end.\u00a0 I was caught in the middle of two huge thunderstorms while riding my bicycle with Mr. Right on Saturday.\u00a0 We were in the country and had to make a dash for shelter.\u00a0 Not fun….\u00a0 Since it is the beginning of the month, we wanted to revisit one of our favorite posts from last September.\u00a0 I have to tell you that this furniture project by Jordan is one of my all-time favorites.\u00a0 She fashioned it after a dresser that future family member Josie<\/a> owns.\u00a0 She’ll tell you how she did it.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0Who doesn\u2019t love a good find at a thrift store? \u00a0Well, I feel I had a great find. \u00a0Here is the beauty I picked up. \u00a0It is proof that good things come to those who wait. \u00a0I have been on the look-out for a dresser with curves like this one since last year.<\/h3>\n

This dresser was built very well and even came with a huge mirror. \u00a0The price was right at only $35 at the Salvation Army store, and I was bummed since I had a $7 coupon at home. \u00a0(Whomp, whomp). \u00a0Oh well \u2013 \u00a0next time. \u00a0I loved the look of this dresser, and I still needed one for our second guest room.<\/h3>\n

I selected a very soft blue with a touch of green in it by Valspar. \u00a0It is Lake Breeze.<\/h3>\n

Here is a side view. \u00a0I just love the curves on this dresser. \u00a0I wanted to match the color of a similar dresser turned buffet that I saw last year at the home of my brother<\/a>\u2018s girlfriend. \u00a0That was my inspiration.<\/h3>\n

Here is a close up of the color. \u00a0Josie emailed a photo so I could match the finish as closely as possible.. \u00a0Her dresser had a glaze, and my dresser needed something more. \u00a0I found the right glaze at Home Depot.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0A little went a LONG way. \u00a0I will own this glaze for life.<\/h3>\n

I didn\u2019t want too much of an intense glazed look. \u00a0I applied a small amount with a sponge brush, and \u00a0then I took cheese cloth and wiped off the extra amount. \u00a0You can add more as needed.<\/h3>\n

If you decide to do this, remember to wear gloves. \u00a0My hands were covered, and this is what they looked like after scrubbing.<\/h3>\n

I kept the original handles and sprayed them white to add some pop to the dresser. \u00a0Josie\u2019s dresser had white pulls. \u00a0I love the look.<\/h3>\n

I am thrilled with the finished project. \u00a0Slowly our guest room is getting furniture and coming together. Have you had any good furniture finds lately?<\/h3>\n
