Hmmm….That headline doesn’t sound right does it, but it is.\u00a0 You might remember that I just finished up my annual bicycle trip in Europe<\/a>.\u00a0 My main mode of transportation for the two weeks was a bicycle so I had to keep the souvenir purchases small and light.\u00a0 (I’ve shared other souvenirs here<\/a>, here<\/a>, here<\/a>, here<\/a>, and here<\/a>.)<\/h3>\n

My first stop on the first day was the city of Ghent where I took this charming photo.\u00a0 Lucky for me, it was early in the day, and the artists were setting up their make-shift shops in the square.<\/h3>\n

A very elderly man who was walking with a cane had just laid out his display.\u00a0 The little oil paintings were small and cheap, and I was smitten.<\/h3>\n

I bought two sweet little paintings that measure 4 x 6.\u00a0 I knew they would fill a blank spot in the kitchen perfectly.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the photos do not do them justice.\u00a0 They are loaded with texture and color, and I love them.<\/h3>\n

This egg is my fave.\u00a0 I love the black on black, and the simple frame just adds to that.<\/h3>\n

This rooster definitely didn’t lay the egg, but they just seemed to go together, so I made them mine.<\/h3>\n

I love the way they look in this little corner over my mailbox turned breadbox<\/a>.\u00a0 I will never see the little artist again, but we had a special moment when I spoke my broken French, and he sold me his art.<\/h3>\n
