Jackson Pollock I am not, but I found a way to create some great modern art that doesn’t take a lot of skill, time, or money. It was simple and easy for you to do, too.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0All you need to do is buy a large canvas and some wall paint samples at your favorite home store. \u00a0I wanted some vibrant colors to wake up our soft blue (Iceberg by Sherwin Williams) in the master bathroom. \u00a0My mother gave me a canvas (24 x 36) that she never used, and I painted the background the same blue as the bathroom wall. \u00a0I chose a yellow sample that I already owned and bought the bright green, blue, and orangish red. \u00a0You can choose any colors you want.<\/h3>\n

Then I set the dried canvas on its edge on top of a thick drop cloth. \u00a0All I did next was slowly pour my paints – one at a time – from the top of the canvas and let them flow. \u00a0Then I let it dry about 24 hours.<\/h3>\n

The next day I turned it over and did the same thing. \u00a0The paints, once again, just slowly flowed down the canvas like lava and did their thing. \u00a0Again, I let it try over night. \u00a0The runs and bubbles gave it some texture, so I didn’t worry about them.<\/h3>\n

\"Easy<\/p>\n

The next step gave it the most dramatic effect. \u00a0I turned it on its narrow edge and poured some more green and again let it dry overnight. \u00a0Then the next day I repeated. \u00a0I stood back and decided it was finished. \u00a0The beauty of this creation is that I could have kept on going, but this felt right to me. \u00a0If you have been reading the The 2 Seasons for a while, you know that I have been taking oil painting classes. \u00a0If you are new here, you can check out my progress here<\/a>, here<\/a>, here<\/a>,\u00a0here<\/a>, and here<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

I guess another huge difference between me and Jackson Pollack is that his art is hanging in museums, and mine is filling the wall over the toilet in the master bathroom. \u00a0Whomp, whomp. \u00a0I guess a girl can dream…….<\/h3>\n

Jordan and I had a great time this past week-end at Haven. \u00a0It was absolutely cool to meet our blog friends and to make so many new friends. \u00a0We learned a lot of great info and will be sharing it with you very soon. \u00a0We arrived back in Lexington around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, and she had to catch a plane back to Syracuse a few hours later, so we need a day or two to collect our thoughts, make our plan, and put it into action.<\/h3>\n
